Time to dust of those over worked brain cells puzzle fans, that's if you aren't still embroiled in solving the devious puzzles involved in some other game you're still playing after several months. The Tim Tang Test is here with 200 levels of url changing, head scratching, google searching, "fun" for you. Time to cancel a few appointments in your calendar I think... The Harry Potter Maze wins my prize for the most boring point'n'click game I've played for some time. Look everybody - it's the same picture repeated four times... again. Also despite the fact there are only four places to click for movement it manages to have the worse navigation system ever as you have to scroll down the page to get to them everytime you move to a new screen. However I'm still posting it, mainly as I can't wait to see someone post the most surreal walkthru ever: "All you need to do to complete the game is: left, up, right, down, left, left, left, up, right... etc" [subbed by MsInterpret].
In Dracula's Riddle you have to "defeat" the evil count Dracula. To do this you have to venture through Transylvania by solving numerous riddles (more than 80). Some of the riddles are puzzles, some are brainteasers, for some riddles you have to use google to get knowledge etc. To solve it all intelligence, creativity and persistance is required [subbed by Daniel].
Where's Sindy? is a game that is a little different from the norm. The basic idea is that you are looking for Sindy (I bet you couldn't guess that from the game title) who's a spokesperson for Altoids, the game's sponsor, and who has gone missing from their London HQ... As a side note I'd just like to point out that the HQ building seems to be some kind of huge tower (think evil lair - volcano-esque style) just outside of London's Waterloo Station. Which is a bit odd, as that is actually where I came into London this morning, indeed where I come into London everyday, and I've never seen it before. Although I am normally a bit sleepy on the train before I've had my first coffee. Anyway, I digress, back to the game... To find Sindy you'll need to track her using the clues from the people you talk to at the different locations she's visited, attempt to figure out the next location, and thus trail her around the world. So you're going to need some geography knowledge too, I'm afraid. You'll also need a copy of Google Earth (4.1) as, (this is the "little different from the norm" part I was referring to), the game is actually played within the Google Earth application, with the game locations being available as KML files (which produce overlays on the maps in Google Earth). This makes game play a little awkward, as once you reach a location the conversations and investigations have to occur in a web browser window outside of Google Earth, but it does sort of make the whole thing feel like more of an investigation as you have to make a little effort, and the novelty value is good too. Finally, if you manage to find Sindy, there is also a chance to win a trip to Vegas (which I bet means Sindy has been there at some point), but I think you need to be a US resident to enter for that. Which means I'll be able to enter soon - mwahmwahmwah! Unfortunately not until after the closing date though. Doh! [subbed by Misty].
No, that Friday lunch time drink didn't effect your vision that much - Twoon Exit really does have double the point'n'click fun with a distinctive split screen interface in which you must find your way around two rooms at once. Let just hope that drink didn't destroy too many brain cells... [subbed by handyrman & kennymfk].!!!!!!!!
Inward Hellix is your standard url changing, source code viewing, image manipulating, googling answers, type, web puzzle, thing, but with added flash animation, music and bucket loads of atmosphere. And I'm liking the atmosphere, it's spookylicious, even if the puzzles might make my poor little brain melt [subbed by anon]. PS. And make sure you check out the page title (in your title bar/tab) when you load it up. Simple, but I'm loving it.
Attention! In Gas Chamber Escape you have woken up in a deadly gas chamber (note: it's not an un-deadly one, which would have been so much more relaxing), and you only have one minute to escape. This is the kind of time constrictive death race I could well do without on a Tuesday, but which I've come to expect from this devil's armpit of a day of the week. Damn you Tuesday! [subbed by Markus].
Get To Z is one of those little puzzles that sounds easy enough, but turns out to be, frustratingly, a bit harder than you first thought. Starting at A, you have to link through to all the different letters of the alphabet, each one linking to a restricted set of other letters, until you get to Z, having visited every other letter along the way. As you visit a letter it's position on the letter grid is replaced with part of a picture. Complete the picture to complete the game. You can visit a letter as many times as you need to, but I'm guessing the elegant solution is to try complete the thing in as few goes as possible [subbed by KitKat].
At first glance Agent J's Mission would seem to be hyper easy. An escape the room style game where the door is already open when you start? I can do that without even thinking about having my first cup of coffee of the day (although, if I'm honest, I can't stop thinking about that first coffee). Anyway you'll quickly find that you can't just walk out of the door and there's more to this point'n'click game than first meets the eye [subbed by Oo, winniethepooh, Mac & Malia].
Even if you can't work out the goal of Escape From The Room Of Rainbow from the game's title (durrrr) fortunately the gut reaction of any point'n'click player is to escape from any given room they might be in. So that's sorted. Only trouble is there doesn't seem to be much to click... [subbed by Lisa, Ross, carm & Stacey].
