Squeezebox

You were wondering what to get me for Christmas weren't you? Well as a public service I can tell you that the SqueezeBox is exactly what I want. Being able to wirelessly stream any music file from a computer in Lazylaces towers to my stereo system? Yes please. Stop that $299 burning a hole in your pocket and get ordering so it arrives in time. For reference the black version with the WiFi option is the one for me. That is all. I'm off to watch for the postman now. Oh, and one other thing, the fact that it's playing an obscure track in the marketing pic that I own means it's destiny, doesn't it? [via OhGizmo!].

Lazylaces Mobile (Beta)

After sending a day a while back tinkering with creating web pages for mobile devices I never really finished off what I was doing, but I did get the comments made on this site available on some mobile pages. Since then I've checked the comments virtually everyday using my phone when I'm away from my PC (on the train mostly), so I thought it was finally time to clean up the pages and advertise them to all. So, as of now, the site comments are available on your mobile phone, simply point your WAP/GPRS device to:

The pages are written in XHTML-MP, which means that the pages should be readable from most modern, internet enabled, mobile devices, although I've only tested them from my Samsung (which uses the Openwave browser). You should be able to see the pages from a normal web browser as well, but obviously they don't look too good as they are formatted for devices with tiny screens (and the cool soft key links won't work either).

Anyway if your try it out on a mobile device I'd love to hear if you have any feedback. I'm already planning to add automatic redirection for mobile devices from the main site address to the mobile address, and, if I suddenly get lots of time (unlikely), I'll also look at expanding the mobile content available.

Chase The Daise

People have complained that I don't keep my diary up to date!!!??? And I thought you were just here for the games. Anyways I don't have much time to write reams just now, maybe sometime soon. What I did want to do though was say a warm welcome back to Daisy, who in web years is an old friend of LL. She's been offline for sometime, but now she's back with a sparkly new site. *hugs* D, it's good to have you back. Incidently talking of web years, I've just realised the LL is 3 years old at the end of this month (at least in it's current format, it's getting on for 5 in total). Watch out for celebrations on the 29th.

Loch Ness Monster

It's not often I'd ask this, but if Mr. Harvey Kendrick is reading, if that is your real name, please re-send your attempt to spam me with the e-mail entitled:

"PLAN SET IN MOTION TO CAPTURE LOCH NESS MONSTER!".

You formatted it badly and the whole body of the mail was missing, meaning I was left tantalized by the message's title, but with no further explanation. You tease you. You also missed out the word 'the' from the e-mail's title, but this tantalized me less.

Un-Bombed

I've been off-line, and off work, for a couple of days as I've been shacked up in bed feeeling ill. Thanks though to my work inbox showing no mercy today and getting me right back into the swing of things. The most exciting thing today was the majority of The Met congregating outside of my office in flak jackets, cordoning off the street, and getting us to evacuate the building. The "suspicious" package across the road turned out to be nothing dangerous, which meant I both escaped a nasty death, and got out in the sunshine. All in all a good day.

Apple Store London

It's only the fact that I knew my credit card would have to come out to play if I visited, that has kept me away from the new(ish) Apple Store on Regent Street so far, but I cracked last week, deciding that an iPod Mini was exactly what I needed to replace my stolen MP3 player. I've already filled 5Gb of it's 6Gb capacity (Doh!), but that's another story, what I really wanted to say is that if you're in central London you have to visit the store. It's like a geek dream made real and impossible not to browse around unecessarily. *joy*

The Church

Sorry for the extended quiet weekend, but I haven't been computer competent for a few days. Saturday saw the leaving do for my good friends Andy and Daniella who are leaving English shores to travel the world for the next year. They'll be missed enormously, but the leaving drinks did them proud with a tour of Camden on Saturday, and a Sunday afternoon jaunt to The Church for the more dedicated. I don't know quite how to describe The Church, but if you imagine the exact opposite of what you normally think of as church on a Sunday you won't be far wrong. Highly recommended (if you like very bizarre and debauched Sundays).

Wiped Out

Apologies for the extended weekend break in posting and the "I'm a bit busy at the moment" responses to all your submitted links (you're all superstars), but I've been a bit busy at work, I had to celebrate my birthday, and well, to be completely 100% honest, Wipeout Pure is just ridiculously addictive. You can complete a single race during an ad-break while watching television, almost miss your stop on the train while attempting a tournament, and win a few gold medals while in bed on a Sunday. New Arrival
