Flash snake game with compete freedom of movement - like the one you pass all those hours with on your Nokia phone without all the bothersome restrictions of only being able to move horizontally and vertically [hosted at fx33].
Control the dragon's run through the volcano being careful not to touch the sides. Press and hold the mouse button to flap your wings. Press space to slow down. I found this fiendishly tricky but very addictive [Hosted at neopets].
In many ways Super Taxi takes me back to the days of Crazy Taxi during my brief ownership of the gone but not forgotten Dreamcast. How I miss waiting for the bus in Shenmue - maybe that's the next big thing for a flash game. Anyway for now Super Taxi is in no (legal) way Crazy Taxi in 2D. but on the other (non-legal) hand that's exactly what it is.
Some really nice lo-fi games on the Junior Senior site -which is pretty lush itself - which I found trying to get a download of "Move Your Feet". The MP3 seems to be out of action on their site - but thanks to Top of the Pops who have the video in real audio - although it looks like this is only temporary so link while you can.
An absense of posts since my Tuesday night post-fest as this week has offered an unprecedented number of opportunities to go out and have a good time :o) Anyway here's Zed which is a rather nice little platform game.
Classic pong in just 4Kb. It's a two player game - use keys [Q] and [A] for player one and [P] and [L] for player two. Hosted at ShockHaber which I don't understand but it seems worth-while browsing.
Stunningly simple but cute game. Collect the kittens in your wheelbarrow by traversing the narrow paths - it's the modern equivalent of one of those games where you guide the metal loop down a wire without trying to touch it - although I seem to be much better at this.
I think this game's name, Pis, must lose something in the journey from Danish into English - at least I hope so. Anyway this is your basic target shooting game with the added distraction of someone called John Schmidt shouting at you in Danish. The slightly surreal feel is also heightened in level one where you are attacked with petrol bombs and bricks - fair enough - but also catapults. Hardly international terrorist weaponery I would have thought - but what would I know? Perhaps the UN are hunting down all the catapults and any young boys with a striking resemblance to Dennis The Menance in Iraq even as we speak.
It's your job to restore the water supply to Chasmtown before the big game starts and the cold beer supply runs dry in this neat Flash game. Don't be fooled by the cute graphics and audio - some tricky puzzles lie within and I think it's going to be a while before I figure it out - or maybe slightly less time for me to cave in and get hints from the forum [Found at Wastrel Division].
Cute little flash game - see how high you can swing. My top tip is to start the game with the mouse button pressed otherwise it's all over rather quickly. Then it's a matter of raising your legs by clicking and holding down the mouse button on each forward swing. I thought I was doing rather well but once again the leader board suggested otherwise.
Another RPG today - this time it's a demo of a games engine written in Flash MX. Tactics Core looks superb and plays well. Can't wait to see beyond the demo - this promises a lot - although I am truely a bad gamer.
