Eugy's Internet Game
It's a bit of a puzzle day today. Mainly because a couple have been submitted (duh!), but also, of course, because I feel you need to kick your brains into gear in the mid-week lull. Firstly it's Eugy's Internet Game which advertises itself as "NOT the hardest riddle in internet" (I think there might be a translation issue here, but it's cool), a simple treasure hunt. That's not to say you won't be challenged though. I struggled to even get to level 3, but that could be because my idea of "culture", is the mouldy yoghurt in my fridge [subbed by jon].

And how about lvl 11, Vicky?

Unfortunatelly, I now know everything about profondo rosso and it's music.
All authors .... names of the songs, etc.
Still ... nothing of that is the solution ....

So, yeah, if you google First American Corp one of the top results says the stock code for it, namely FAF. The Fibonacci sequence is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, ....

Anyway, what was the 6th egg for 11. All I have is

Okay, I've about had it with this game. Yes, I've tried every single freaking area with this shooting game, and the highest I get is into the 7000s, because I SUCK AT SHOOTING GAMES! I even tried to get the hints that Vicky so generously provided, but that still doesn't work! Could somebody who knows the answer please tell me what part of this I have wrong, so I can stop giving myself concussions?

For the first part:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
faf
.

The second part:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Something rhyming with the Roman Catholic word for a church service, (mass), so I get (pass)
.

Third:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Word to rhyme with dessert, which I'm thinking is s'more. So, I thought of score
.

Finally, the third Fibonacci number is 1, and the 7th is 8--add them together and you get 9. I've tried spelling nine and leaving it as a numeral, and nothing is working!
.

I'm about to take out my real gun and shoot my computer! :D

Sorry, that last spoiler tag didn't work. Apologies to those who didn't want to know.... Not that it would be of any help, mind you.

Michelle,

it's not nine ;)

Fibonacci sequence goes
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
so it's not nine, it's 15

Dayv, when you click on the door litlle window opens and it's asks for username and password:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
So, username is name of cathedrale (two words) but remember do not use SPACE or capital letters, and the password is name of city

I've checked the midi file to see if it has any hidden clues, but couldn't find any. Now I'm downloading a program to convert it to sheet music.

Thank you so much, Nefretit!!!

The list of numbers I had had "0" as the first number--that's why I wasn't getting anywhere. You've saved my brain!

i can read music, i just dont know how to use these midi player things and how do u get the music off the webpage? :o)

Comment 224, Thursday, January 12th 2006 06:43:00 PM

Michelle

:
Okay, I have the midi file converted into sheet music, but I'm so terrible at reading notes. Plus, the the thing is five pages long, so I'm guessing I have to find the section where the clip is heard, then look at the notes themselves. Any thoughts on this?

Comment 225, Thursday, January 12th 2006 06:49:00 PM

Okay, not trying to make myself sound like a COMPLETE moron here, but could someone please explain to me the concept of "eggs?" Like, how to find them, what they are, etc. I have a vague idea of what they are, but I'm afraid I'm still a bit confused.

Comment 226, Thursday, January 12th 2006 06:52:00 PM

Mola Ram

:
To get the music, just replace helpme.php with profondorosso.mid.

Comment 227, Thursday, January 12th 2006 06:54:00 PM

Vicky

:
Michelle,

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
In the address bar put profondo rosso it'll take u to a page that says something about nice refrain. Right click the page, then click on veiw source. Somewhere in there there will be something that looks like this

<.....!-- N --.....> but without the fullstops ive added.

so if u type in words that relate to profondo rosso that you have say googled.

Hope this works

Hint on 11:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The music starts aaeaad.

An egg is basically just a hint page. Like when you type in profondorosso.php is brings up an egg page.

how many notes do u need?
Do u just put the notes in?

Comment 231, Thursday, January 12th 2006 07:07:00 PM

Michelle

:
Thanks for the help with the notes, Mola. I'm just not getting what Eugy wants us to do with all of this info. It's a bit unfortunate that we've been doing this for how long now, and are still having problems with finding the solution. I'm all for a challenging riddle, but this is getting to be a bit ridiculous. I think I'm going to go wash the dishes or something, let my mind process everything. Good luck to everyone--I'll check back in later.

ive put it in and now it says

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
right way, but solution was second part of refrain, ok?

I have no idea, can u just tell me the answer. Please :o)

Comment 235, Thursday, January 12th 2006 07:22:00 PM

Vicky

:
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! I worked it out. Thanks Mola

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
for any future addictees, remember refrain means repeat. The second repeat. 16 notes

Comment 236, Thursday, January 12th 2006 07:46:00 PM

Mola Ram

:
Ah man, it didn't post my reply.

You are almost there.
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Each measure is 30 notes. The first part is 14 notes and then it repeats. But since the measure is 30 notes long, the second part is 16 notes, so you're only two notes away from the right answer.

Comment 237, Thursday, January 12th 2006 07:48:00 PM

Mola Ram

:
Now help me with 12 :)
