Bodilies
Two warnings about Bodilies before you play: 1). The "F" word gets used, although not a lot, but it's still not one for the kids to play (kids obviously do not know, or use, that word), or delicate little flowers who do not like "language". 2). There is loads of text to read (it's called a story) as part of the adventure which a lot of people don't like (it does get a bit irritating when all you want to do is play). Anyway, that's the warnings done with.

Bodilies is a beautifully drawn, and soundtracked, adventure where you control the point'n'click investigations of "Neil". Neil's simple (!) task is to prove the truth about nature of the Bodilie world (you find this out near the beginning - I won't spoil it), and to thus discredit the church and government's stories. It all gets a bit involved, but the sights and sounds along the way will keep you entertained. If you need to quit out and come back to later - use the save game feature which is hidden away in the bottom left of the game screen [subbed by handyrman, Canadian Enchantress, CF, Munch, Helanren, Shadriss & Hammrsgl].

Although far from being a delicate little flower..I do find the use of the bad language to be uncecessary..(there are one or two words that are particularly nasty), I see no reason to include it at all, but of course, that's just my opinion.

It's such a great game otherwise, lovely to look at and great puzzles..reminded me of a few games gone by...the screenshot above being reminiscent of the map of Ank Morpork in the Discworld games...I liked it overall, (minus the language ;o)

I've finished the game if anyone needs assistance - it's quite logical - just need to know that if you put the cursor across the bottom left of screen then you can see your inventory and it is better played in full screen mode <F11> in IE. Good luck all! It's a great little game.

Cool game, I'll finish it when I have a few days to load every scene, but good game so far.

A bit slow in Firefox, will test IE later.

Ad blockers seem to have no effect on gameplay.

Save/Fullscreen mode available in lower left, if you cannot see it all with your resolution settings.

I swear, the cathedral music was recycled from the legend of zelda or something equally video game like and similar.

Most likely zelda, though.

Weird - I played this weekend and there were no problems with load time, whatsoever... both firefox/mozilla and ie were smooth and fast - - - hopefully, it will get fixed soon because it's so worth it.

I don't know about anyone else, but the actual load time (from the time the load bar is on screen to the new section) isn't bad, it's the time from when you click to the time the bar shows up that is irritating!

I didn't notice any horrendous load times at all... maybe a few seconds between scenes when I played it on Sunday. And I was playing from a computer on a government connection... which REALLY sucks. *shrug* Maybe all the instant publicity the site got from the game being posted here has overwhelemed it's bandwidth?

I DO wish there was more to the ending... but what was there tells me that the cycle will begin again. With Niel as the unidentified "Stranger" and some other poor schmuck taking Niel's place.

C'est la vie, I guess.

My comments: Cute homage to the Song of Time in the cathedral. Clicking was repetative, until I realized there was text at the top of the screen. (Small screen, big game, went to the middle at first.) Had trouble realizing the map is what I needed to continue without looking briefly at the walkthrough; I find that disappointing, for my skills at these sorts of games. Otherwise, intriguing music, and I was hoping for a happier ending... but such is the vicious cycle of life.
