*DOWNLOAD ALERT*DOWNLOAD ALERT*DOWNLOAD ALERT*
In Cubation is definitely a game for the weekend. You'll need a fair bit of time to allow for the pain - the download is ~225Mb (although to be fair it came down at a nippy 100-200kBs when I grabbed it) - and then a fair bit of time for the pleasure; 225Mb of point'n'click gaming isn't something to sniff at. At least it's not for a group of p'n'c addicts like ourselves.
Anyway, once you are all downloaded, there are nice 3D graphics aplenty for you to gawp at, atmospheric sounds to tickle your eardrums, and a proliferation of puzzles to point'n'click. * JOY*. So what's it all about? Well I'll hand over to the official description for an explanation of that (which should ring huge great big happy p'n'c bells of familiarity for you):
It begins inside the cubes. You've been ripped from your everyday and ordinary life and cast into the grey shadows of the cubes.
You have a clear goal. Escape at any cost.
Each challenging puzzle you solve will bring you closer to answering the questions of who you are and how you got here.
It will require you to master strange devices and it will demand of you all of your deduction skills, curiosity and total dedication to solve the final mystery.
In Cubation will bring you to intricate new worlds rendered in vivid colours and stunning 3D.

I'm "in" but found only 1 clue at the initial screen ... wandered around the tube maze and found only a couple of switches ....

:Too bad I am on a Mac.... It's peecee only.
Carla

Noodles
:24 % done....... la le la le la!!!!
Corona
:You could have a T3 connection...you're still gonna wait forever for the download because it's on a POS server. Some of these gamers still think it's 1995.

:What is the Microsoft XML 6 for? And which one do i download? There are four to choose from.
Justme
:I'm not even going to try to download this. I have this stupid "fair access" policy that won;t let me go over 400 Mb in 1 day *groan*
Trebor
:Can anyone help with the XLM6. 4 versions to choose from
Noodles
:almost there........
Noodles
:I picked the smallest file for the XLM6 and it gave me the file that it said we needed.
Noodles
:ok - downloaded - 2 1/2 hours later!!! :O
Better be good! :)
Pinkriddler
:This sucks. You get a good looking game with decent graphics, and they don't allow it full potential by offering a mac version.
Noodles
:Here we go.....
Noodles
:Hhmm hit first error and got booted! wah!! will try again later.

:Finally got something!
Hint for square grid with symbols and numbers
HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
make sure you make a note of everything on the paper in the first cube- when trying to put numbers/symbols in the right places it might take a few attempts
Jiminy c
:Anybody got anything?!
P114
:Can anyone give me a hint with the square grid with the numbers and colors...?
Mr. Happy
:Solved the grid and got a blue crank ???
Now I'm completely stuck
Corona
:When I tried installing XML 6 it said I had a newer version of it already. I'm not downgrading for this game. Hope it runs okay. I left home this morning downloading the game.
Carla
:It sounds like a lot of us are stuck on the numbers/letters/symbols/colors grid.
If anyone has solved it, some help would be appreciated.

Awortham
:Help with the numbers/letters/symbols/colors grid:
HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
Your solved puzzle will have a row of letters, a row of numbers, a row of symbols and a row of colors; the only thing you change is the order in which they appear in the row.
The clues to the left of the puzzle should be read one COLUMN at a time and interpreted as "will be in the same column." It does not mean "if above in the clue, it will be above in the solution."
The clues to the right of the puzzle should be read one ROW at a time and tell you how the objects are positioned with regard to column: e.g. "D23" means the D will be in the column immediately to the left of the 2 - but not in the same row - and the 2 will be in the column immediately to the left of the 3 - in the same row.
Mi
:Read the roll of paper in the beginning room, it tells you where things should go row-wise.
Carla
:Thanks Awortham ... finally got passed it ....
HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
Got crank ... thought for sure it would be used in the room w/ the blue wall ... but didn't see where it could be attached.
Delrio
:i've used the crank
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
it's used on some cogs
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
behind a technical looking diagram
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
same room as a sort of mosaic looking picture
Delrio
:meant to say... it didn't really do anything - i think i need something else to make it work
Carla
:Good Job Delrio ...
Carla
:if you listen closely ... it sounds as if another room was opened ... but where? and maybe the levers by the window were affected or the yellow switch.
Pierre
:First post here.
It took this game for me to speak up. It's fantastic!
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
I have managed to go downstairs and switch one of the pod on. Then back upstairs and played with the levers. A wall moved and now I cannot go back to the starting room. Instead, I have a wall with some kind of symbol...
Also, for the crank:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Does anybody know if a cog is needed? I can turn the crank, but nothing happens
Carla
:downstairs? upstairs? whoa! there are stairs?? lOl
welcome, pierre ... and it looks like there is a cog missing.
Pierre
:Thanks Carla! Yes there is a
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
a black manhole cover that allows you to go to a room with 3 pods (one is broken). You need to face the handle to open the cover of the manhole
Pierre
:I also believe you need to get the
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
green disc from the downstair's green pod and place it in the green pod next to the green lever (upstairs) to make it work. But I don't know how... :(
Carla
:Power of posting ... figured out the manhole could be opened ... and I passed by it how many times??? lol
I"m trying to sort out the pods downstairs too.
Pierre
:SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The cog at the bottom is different from the other ones and doesn't seem to fit in the assembly. I'm wondering if we should find a way to remove it and place it in the empty space
Delrio
:it's possible i'm being really rubbish - but i just can't open that manhole - i'd already tried before pierre said and jsut assumed i needed to do something else first.
are there switches that need pulling first or something?
Delrio
:lol never mind - power of postage
Delrio
:ooooh i did something
HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
i switched on the red globe downstairs, it's the only one that works right now, and then i played with the three levers and i can now see the red door thru the window.
no idea what to do now tho
no idea what to do now tho
Pierre
:Yep, this is where I am too. And note that when
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the red globe is switched on, a different symbol is given when the red button is pressed downstairs
