:I'm not sure there is a coincidence, FilmStar - the people who posted probably got the same questions right. Presumably the higher questions are weighted more than the lower ones, though.
Again, age has nothing to do with it (provided you are a child and over a certain minimum age... I wouldn't expect a 3-month-old baby to do very well :))
122 here - I got 133 on Test the Nation (IQ test on UK TV a while back) so thought I'd do better, but there were quite a few questions here I didn't quite understand or didn't get at all.

:"Inspired by Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices" -- "inspired" is right. An IQ test has to have a correct answer, but in this test, for the higher level problems, I don't know how you could logically figure it out, so it's about guessing what the test-writer had in mind. (Or just guessing, period.) I'm sure the test-writer could explain what their system was, but for some of the problems you'd have to figure it out by luck. Is the progression of pattersn across, or down, or diagonal? Unless one works and the others don't, you can't be sure you have the "right" answer. Are you supposed to be looking at groups of three, arranged randomly? Or does position matter at all? Again, there has to be some reason one of these works and other possibilities don't, so you can rule out wrong guesses.
Or maybe I'm bitter because I didn't get a high enough score.

it only tests in one area tho, spatial relations. so in that area alone im averageish.

:what one is smart in another may not be so much. it depends on the area given. also in said area it depends on the individual learning style of the person studying the given area of interest.
to what one may be a cube to another may be a trapazoid.
it depends on the angle of perspective seen or given.

:scored a 135, 23 yr old student. It would be interesting to see the results and get an idea of how our answers match up with what we thought we were trying to figure out, notably the last 5 or so really were difficult.
I do think there is a pattern on the ones at the end, I know 2 totally buggered me. And of course, this being an "IQ test" is purely subjective and why the real tests have these sorts of spatial problems as only a third or thereabouts of the the actual questions.

For the higher level questions, there is a certain logic to them, and once you "get it", it seems obvious. There is (as far as I can tell) always one clearly correct answer.
Of course, I'm saying that after guessing on two of them, but for all the others, there is a definite logical answer. ^_^
When I have more time, I'll go through again and try to figure out those remaining two...

:well i got 140, but guessed on the last one (with the 3x3 grid with triangles and x's and circles) and on the second to last one (with the chequerboard style thing)
and i think its a general fact, those who come online and do things like this TEND to have higher than agerage IQ, those with lower than average IQ's are more happy sitting around vegetating rather than stimulating their minds with point'n'click games!
