Coggy, it's basically just a holiday where we as Americans get together with out families, eat traditional food (such as turkey and pumpkin pie), and give thanks for all the good that we have in our lives. It's based on a feast held back hundreds of years ago between the first settlers to the New World and its native peoples. It's the number one "family holiday" over here, even more than Christmas, in my case, because it's when we see ALL the extended family (grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, etc) at one time. I love it, so happy Thanksgiving even ifyou don't celebrate it!
