Return To The Archipelago
The beautiful island location of Return To The Archipelago makes it the Far Cry of the point'n'click adventuring scene. Yes, that's right, once you've stopped looking at the eye-candy there is an adventure in there to be played as well [subbed by May].

Enough of the here I am crap, how the hell do you play/what do you do? I take it it's some sort of morse code with the paper and possibly the bells.. but what?

Comment 7, Saturday, January 7th 2006 06:34:00 PM

Lady_Mustang

:
Well, I hope some one figures it out soon, cause I have all these freakin papers, and don't know what to do with them

Comment 8, Saturday, January 7th 2006 07:03:00 PM

Charmer

:
Don't worry about the papers, it's ordinary morse code for which you can find tons of web pages to translate. If you don't know anything about musical notes it may behoove you to gather those into one place

by the bell towers
. They do not need to be carried around at all.

From May's main website is a very good (though sometimes frustrating!) hint system for Return. These will give you clues as to what to do.

Just remember May is the same guy who put out the Dark Room and Dark Complex -- so figuring out what to do is half the fun/pain.

I spent half the day searching out hints for this game, now I've opened all three doors, and am stuck in them. The bell towers are hard if you are not musical but then so is another puzzle for much the same reasons ... I'm almost tone deaf *bang head*

Was shocked these weren't on here before today though.

Okay, so far I've finished the tilting palm puzzle, the buoy puzzle and the bell puzzle. I'm having a bit of trouble distinguishing between the crystal noises, and I have no idea what else to do. Anybody have any bloody ideas? The in game hints aren't working so well. I don't know what to dig with, and I sure as heck can't find any binoculars!

Wow, I feel dumb. Got the doors open, and I'm going to go explore now...

Does anyone know where to dig? Now that i can dig the map doesnt make any sense to me. i cant find anywhere where the "landmarks" look right.

In regards as to where to dig:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Go to the islands with the anchors. The island you will dig in is the plain sand one just behind them (not the one with the skeleton or the bottle

Does anyone know how to solve the freaking star obelisk in that stone world? It is driving me up the wall! I can't figure out where I've seen the symbol on top before, or what to do with the lit up stars/twinkling stars. Help!

Thanks Charmer, I will go drop them somewhere

Comment 16, Sunday, January 8th 2006 04:26:00 AM

To do the star obelisk you have to light up the grave markers then look up...let me know if you need any more help.

I've figured out the grave marker/sky connection, but I can't seem to figure out how to transfer that to the obelisk. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, the oragami/fruit thing is driving me nuts as well. I'm looking for patterns upon patterns upon patterns and am coming up with jack.

This is fun, but frustrating! :)

Below the triangle button there is a series of musical notes that form a rhythmic pattern.

for the stars, they make a cross pattern. light up all but the corners.

Comment 32, Monday, January 9th 2006 12:35:00 AM

Ash

:
for the bell towers click the first one (you onky need to do it once), then delay the 2nd tower by just a moment. the third should follow the 2nd imediatly, and the forth should follow the third. yes you must click the triangle after doing all of this.

Why can't anyone give any decent clues? I've read everything that was posted before this and it's not very helpful at all. I don't even know where to start. I've read everyone's clues and it's incredibly frustrating, because it's all in code.

How can you dig? How is the morse code helpful? What is the significance of 1014. I've been staring at it for an hour.

I am stuck on the 1014 switch. I've followed the "hints" from the website and here, but for some reason I'm still not getting it to work. I know what it is suppose to be, is there a puzzle that I am suppose to complete before this one?

Rey,

I guess that means that the Bandwidth Limit is exceeded, and the server is temporarily unable to service your request, due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit, and that you should try again later... but I could be wrong of course!

Help i cant find all the puzzle pices on the paper world of spell corectly. dose anyone knoy were all four of them are?
Hint on the friut tree puzzle in that world:
the animals group up into two grops of three
group one the animals facing there firuts
group two animals that are composed of triangle bodies
one animal is in both grups that goes in the center the others are plaset acording to the real world oreintation to the odd one out
a further hint is that the stump of symbols has two lines so the animals mus have two smialarites.
