Well here it is, MOTAS (Mystery Of Time And Space). Considered by many to be the granddaddy of all point'n'click games, I've been resisting posting it as I wanted to finish it before I did. However this is the New Years Link clearout and as I'm mailed a link to it every other week, and I haven't got round to playing it for so long, it's got to go. Maybe your comments will finally help me finish the thing.

:)
Jeff
:alright. i have three stone tiles and a head in a box. what do i do next?
LLB
:you got to active the mechanism under the bridge clicking on the right of the ramp, you got to resolve a puzzle with the tiles & the head will go through your labyrinth to active the door.
Indeed there's currently 13 levels i succeded them all but the game isn't finished yet & the author increases the number of levels litle by little.
Flo

:I am also inclined to label MOTAS "the grandaddy of all P&C games". I finished many moons ago.......but I check back now and again to see if any rooms have been added.
Good Luck everyone!!!
LLB
:when i told 13 levels, the 13th has been added recently :)

:MINIMAL HINTS (for people who think walk-throughs suck)
* rule 1: if you get an object, it will be useful.
* rule 2: click around like a mad person. you'll get different messages from the same object, and most of them will tell you that nothing's happening.
* there's an "options" button in the upper right-hand corner, with a "sound off" button.
* in the first room, there's already a key in the keyhole of the door -- tragically, it's on the wrong side of the door.
* in the second room (s), look carefully for two objects.
* in the third room, with the "walk bridge," you use a similar technique to get the bizarre rat's head into a trap, and then to get it to push buttons for you.
* the "glass box with holes" has black lines on the outside and inside frames. (See below for spoiler.)
* once the door's unlocked, you can lower the bridge, if you figure out how.
* in the next room, "22 celcius" is 72 degrees F -- i.e., warm. which means that the (electric) radiator is on.
* next room(s), "Hello World," the key-pad is a series of puzzles: "which of these things is not like the others?" if you get one wrong, you go back two screens; so if you figure one out by trial and error, write it down so you remember.
* in the room with the tubing, things start getting complicated, and you have to go back and forth a lot. attaching the colored wheels opens doors for you.
* on the Mail Snail box, "fill out your form" etc. is a clue. (shades of Takagism!)
* in the transporter, you're trying to get the color white.
* the next codekey box tells you what number to add up to.
* the figure you put on the pedestal is a knight. the chessboard makes it easy by blinking when you run your cursor over a legally-accessible square.
* about here you start reading a lot of notices and books about clones, aliens, holoverses and time-travel. presumably this will make more sense when the game is completed. after the first room, the readings, posters, etc., seem to be just for entertainment/educational value.
* for the computer, you can get the code word to enter if you look elsewhere for it. once you see the first and second rooms on the screen, you can open the door, though you don't get any indication you've succeeded until you try the door.
* in the hall with five doors, some of them lead to empty rooms, but at least two of them lead to the same place, which is the next room/level.
* the puzzle-game with two men holding it works when you click on an arc: they move (only clockwise), but the outer rim doesn't move. it doesn't seem to matter how many moves it takes you. (good thing, too.)
* the ball looks like a bowling ball, but it's not.
* the next computer shows you floor plans. these are actually important, but there's nothing you need to do with them except understand them.
* the first screen showing the laser gates turns off one gate at a time. the gates are color-coded.
* the second screen can be accessed, but you can't do anything once you access it until you've turned the wall panel (second room on this level) all green -- actually, you can have three black panels left and it will turn green. (thank god.)
* you can spend a lot of time trying to figure out what to do with the third screen.
* apparently the code to the laser screen (not the laser gates) changes each game.
* when you take the elevator to level D, the floor design is a clue.
* the color machine is the hardest thing to figure out. you get clues about what colors go where; when you get them colored correctly and in the right places, with the top flat, pull the red handle. (the color directions change each time you play.)
* damn if i know what the dove is for.
CAUTION! SPOILER ALERT!
* for the floor tiles on the walk bridge, insert all three; then click the right-hand one twice, the middle one once, and the left-hand one twice. (unless it changes each time you play.) then you can insert the disk-case with the rat/head. you don't need to take the rat/head out.
* we love Graeme!

:I can't believe Graeme finally posted this wonderful game. I loved it, and have beaten it a long, long time ago. For those of you who haven't beaten the thirteen levels yet (YES 13; there's a new one), do not get your hopes up without getting a walkthrough. These kind of games are my life, and I admit having to get resources for help two times in this game. This game is humorous, intriguing, and musically exceeding. Great game, but bewarned on the level of difficulty. The first five rooms are so are a joke, but you could be stuck on some particular levels for days...! I'm too lazy to post a walkthrough, and posting one is cheap; anyone else out there that's more disciplined than me {a million hands raise}? People, play this game. You'll love it!
Justin H
:Congratulations on the posting, Graeme! I bet that 20 minutes from now there'll be at least 50 comments...(Yes, I'll be on the board...I'm waiting!!!)
Justin H
:I MEANT POSTING SOMEONE ELSE'S!!! I AM NOT CHEAP!!! FORGET WHAT I SAID!!! I'VE POSTED LIKE TEN WALKTHROUGHS ON THIS SITE!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I SAID THAT...
Justin H
:I REPEAT!!! I SAID POSTING A WALKTHROUGH IS CHEAP, AND I'VE POSTED TONS OF MY OWN!!! I MEANT TO SAY THAT POSTING SOMEONE ELSE'S WALKTHROUGH IS CHEAP!!! I'M NO HYPOCRITE, HONEST!!! AWWWW, CRIPES!!!
Graeme
:Too much love and congratulations people - my head's big enough as it is!
Justin H
:You're people just can't get enough of you, Graeme!
Meme
:oh, we're just buttering you up. ideally you'll be driven by the guilt and embarrassment to do something productive like edit the comments page to remove inanities and walk-throughs -- the walk-throughs could go to a separate page, clearly labelled "losers only," and the inanities could be used for compost.
e.g., comments pages for Viridian Room and Walk In Circles...
or maybe a special corner for "hints and no spoilers," so i can run my eye over the comments looking for help without having to worry about being told "the phone number is" blah blah blah.
"cheap" about sums it up, IMHO. come on, Graeme, i can tell by your sophisticated posts that you agree with me -- a subtle hint is a work of art, and a spoiler is a crime against humanity.
Justin H
:Anyone here? The clock is ticking!!! I have about 8 more minutes before losing to my own bet! This is miserable...
Justin H
:I'd add fifty of my own comments...but that would be a waste of space, and Graeme here would be pretty mad...How embarrassing!
Graeme
:Meme: I do agree but I spend farrrrrrrrrrrrr too much time gathering, posting, and playing the stuff for the site as it is without editing the comments as well (although I do delete most spam I find). Viridian Room alone has over 900 comments. I'd never get time to find new links!
Justin H
:I didn't quite get what Meme was getting at with Viridian Room being bad, (I hate the game Walking In Circles, as I said in Which Way Adventure, I can't stand when games abuse sex, and I don't care if their jokes are funny; IT'S WRONG. PERIOD.), but...Er, I forget.
Meme
:ah Graeme, of course you're right. (sigh.) well, once again it's the old do-unto-others-as-you-wish-they'd-have-done-unto-you -- i'll keep posting the hints i wish i'd had, and regretting benefitting from the spoilers.
but as Justin H says, your public certainly does appreciate your Herculean efforts!
Justin H
:Crud, I lost my bet. Oh, well! No skin off my back; I'mma go leave this lonely board and try out that "Hiding Room" whatever. See you!
Justin H
:Oh, Meme, walkthroughs are for people who know they're ruining the fun for themselves, and I've gotten used to acknowledging the fact that if you are going to go to the comments pages in the first place, be prepared to sand through some spoilers. I respect you're opinion, though.
Graeme
:Justin: If you are going to try The Hiding room make sure you start <a href="http://www.helpmefindjon.com/intro.html">here</a> (I posted the wrong start site) and read through the comments the post has already collected (esp. the one from pixie).
Meme: Thanks for understanding - I go for the 'do unto others theory' too.
Justin H
:Thanks Graeme, and Meme!
Bleh
:i cant get past the computer! i found the comand and i entered it but the door wont open! HELP!
Buji
:don't forget guys, you can chat to ppl for help on this game, while you play.
Buji
:ahh I take that back... apparently you cant geting into it this way. Hmm.. why not tho?
Zenen
:I am stuck at 13th! HELP!
Zenen
:OK I got it.
Zenen
:Wow! I beat the 13th without any help!! I am so proud!
LLB
:the 13th level is nice coz it's the first time you're a bit outside but it's quite easy according to me
Geffen
:i just started the game, and i'm on lvl 3, but once i get the rat in the disk box, what do i do with it? i cant inlock the door :(
Jessica
:how do i get the tiles out if i already put them in but the puzzzle was wrong?
Jessica
:how do i get the rat in the disk box
Amy
:im stuck on the computer ive put in the first password and now i cant get past the 2nd room and ive tried everything i can think of. Help me so i can go back to living a normal life :)
LLB
:Jessica:to put the rat in the box :put the box near the hole where the head appears. when you see the head click on the box it will capture it.
Amy:i don't remember exactly but the code on the pc is the one for the digicode for the door i think, no?
Buji
:Amy what level are you stuck on? If lev 2 and you put the password into the door keypad, the door should be open.
Julia
:in room three how many times do u have to pull each tile up to match one hole to the next, no combination seems to be working?
Meme
:julia, i put a spoiler for this at the end of my long post about hints, above. it may change each time you play, in which case what you're doing is exactly what you did to get the rat/head into the rat-hole: line up the dark grey lines on the frame with the lines on the tiles so that the line is connected across all three tiles.
David
:Amy, the letters make a word, type it.
Phil
:oh god, i played this one ages ago, i got to the green wall bit and nearly went crazy! havnt played it since!
David
:I need help, how can I get water from the well to put out the fire (level 13)
Nid
:David, you need to click around on the different floors to find: (spoilers)
a bucket and waterproof tape. The tape I think is on the shelves on the last floor.
David
:tnx, i already have the tape, what can't find is the bucket
