Little Lost Head
I have no idea what this game is really called as all the text describing it is in Japanese, but the idea of the thing is that a little girl's head floats away on a balloon and you have to help her retrieve it (no, really). So I've christened the game &quotLittle Lost Head" for want of a better name.

That aside it's rather a nice example of another point'n'click game, it reminds me of a cross between samorost and chasm, and it's really rather cute (if you ignore the fact that you're controlling a decapitated girl's body).

As usual feel free to post a comment if you get stuck, although I should warn you that I'm currently stuck on level 3 myself (why doesn't the pattern the bird shows me work?), but perhaps the very kind Incog Neato can help since they mailed me the link (have you completed it Incog?).

Note: mail me at the address at the bottom of the page for a downloaded copy of the game if the link isn't working.

Hello! Long time visitor, first time commentor. I too am stuck at that spot, and have tried reversing the pattern and inverting it. Still can't get it. Anyhow I'm commenting to let you know the name of the game is Kao-Fuusen which in English means Face Balloon. Incase you were wondering what the text on the bottom says, it basically says that you can skip the intro by right clicking and pressing forward. Doing so in the game will just lead you back to the intro. And the author loves the game, Samorost.

Thanks for another wonderful link ^_^

I think I figured out the pattern. Just rotate the paper the bird shows you 90 degrees clockwise, and a target should appear.

Yup, ya'll figured it out. =) The pattern is from the girl's point of view........or what her point of view would be if she had a head. ;)

Thanks Incog, I was wondering how anyone could figure out it had to be that way, but it makes sesnse since it's from the girl's POV.

IN YOUR HEAD!!!!

Barring that, get a paper and a pencil and draw the diagram youself. Then rotate your diagram 90 degrees clockwise and punch this pattern into the board.

O.K.! O.K.! Now just calm down and take a deep breath! We will have to find another reason for your little lost head malfunction. I nominate an oversight in your diagram to lightboard interpretation. So to double check this theory, here is how it should look:
Row #1: - + - - -
Row #2: + + + - -
Row #3: - - + - -
Row #4: + + + + +
Row #5: - - + + -
This is of course already rotated, starting in the top left hand corner, where - = off and + = on. Dare to compare!

Once you put the pattern on the board as outlined above, make sure the crane retracted, so it is out of the headless girls way.

Jesse- Just get the bird on the top right corner to come and hit the ladder... after you climb up, click on the little container so it'll hit the bull's eye thingy below.... then click the container.. something will roll out.. and the little girl in the house will come out and chase it when you click it.... Then, after you touch the blue handle, click on the shutters... you'll see color sequence.. simply click it so it'll look the same from the door below.. then, it'll light the door on top... which then you can click on the headless girl to move up there. =) hope this helps!

Am I just stupid? I am totally stuck at the VERY beginning... I followed the girl's ghost up the stairs, and I'm in front of this bridge thing, but whenever I click on her, she points to something, and I can't tell what it is. Whenever I try to cross the bridge, she points again. What is it that she's pointing to?!

I wonder the same thing. I keep ringing and ringing the doorbell but it doesn't help - I still get kicked out.

Hmmm. I finally did manage to get past that point (after which I got through the rest pretty quickly) but it seemed a bit random as to when you get thrown out and not.

Pay attention to the cart, when it gets to a certain point the light above the door turns green. Time it right to go in the door when the light is green.

on the faint chance that someone (perhaps GW himself?) will read this, i canNOT get the pattern to work. i understand the concept, and i came up with the pattern that Anita details above:
Row #1: - + - - -
Row #2: + + + - -
Row #3: - - + - -
Row #4: + + + + +
Row #5: - - + + -

-- but nothing happens -- her headless body just gestures idly, whether the crane is retracted or not, and no "target" appears.
in desperation, i tried MC's triple-post comment about "you have to rotate the map counter-clockwise...not clockwise btw" -- still nothing.
what am i not doing?
