... even though it's a white canvas, you actually have to paint in the white squares.

@Bobo I had to use a walkthrough too, because I was unaware of the extra unnecessary steps that had to be taken to get out. If I solve the puzzle and have the correct code to get out, I should be able to enter it without taking steps that literally give no new information, hints, tools, or anything else. Had the game not required doing what you mentioned, it would have rated it higher.
