Holy cow, I got one on my own -- and it had codes and everything. I suck at these -- so it's a good day when I get one. :) I know it's annoying to read this if you're stuck, but I'm not going to be the first commenter and gives hints or walkthroughs!

Madli, the same thing just happened to me. (At least the game wasn't so long that it made me mad.) I played through again and it worked.

What a lovely game! It's pretty to look at, very logical, and not too hard. I really like it.

The more visually challenged might find the tiny *tiny* script highly irritating.

combine the knowledge of what you find in the blue book, and the four pictures in the room.

For the order
HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
You have a piece of paper with colors, numbers and shapes, and a grid for viewing it. You will use it more than once.

Walkthrough (not really needed, this one's easy)

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

1. Look at the blue book on the left side of the bottom shelf and note the Zodiac Calendar and the symbols for each Zodiac.Turn right, get the paper from the couch.

2. Click on the green cup on the desk, grab the screw driver. Click the down arrow to return to viewing the room.

3. Click on the drawers of the desk and get the 1st Cog from the 2nd drawer and the device from from the bottom drawer. Click down arrow to return to room view.

4. Turn right, grab the pitcher off of the stool. Open the door to view the safe. Note the big urn.

5. Turn right, click on the sink and turn on the water. Start filling the pitcher with water and filling the big urn in the previous screen. You will need to use 3 full pitchers to grab the key.

6. Once you've got the key, go back to the right with the sink and click on the door under the sink to reveal another safe. Click on the cabinet to reveal a box with a giant blue ? above it. Go right to get back to the first screen.

7. Click on the door and use the screwdriver to remove the stencil.

8. Open the paper from the couch to reveal a bunch of numbers and colored shapes. Use the stencil to reveal the code for the safe under the sink.
Code:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
0741

9. Back out of door view, use the key from the urn on the brown box and get the telescope.

10. Back out of the box view and click on the window to look outside. Use telescope on the sign for the clue to the device from the bottom desk drawer.

11. Using the clue, count the number of flowers, fence posts, and clouds and then do the math suggested by the clue.
code:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1086

insert the code into the device to get the 2nd Cog.

12. By now you may have noticed 4 pictures with different colored frames. Each picture depicts a certain day of the year. Find out which Zodiac symbol corresponds with that date.
Code:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The safe's colors are (in order) Green, Red, Blue, and Orange.
Green = Christmas Day = Dec 25 = Capricorn.
Red = Valentine's Day = Feb 14 = Aquarius.
Blue = US Independence Day = July 4 = Cancer.
Orange = Halloween = Oct 31 = Scorpio.

Use the dates from those events to get the Zodiac names, Translate the names into the symbols with the blue book, Put them in the safe on the screen with the big urn in order of the color of the frames of the picture as it translates to the order of the colors on the safe.

13. Get the crank from the safe. Turn right to the safe under the sink. Use the stencil code to open the safe. Get the final Cog.

14. Go to the cabinet with the box and big blue ? on it. Click on the box and place the cogs and crank on machine and then click the crank handle to get the key to front door.

15. Go to the front door and use the key on it. You're done!

Bug, when I picked up the last key it would not go in my inventory, but it did disappear. I could keep going back and pick it up, but it would not go into my inventory. So I could not leave.

THE HOUSE IS HAUNTED!!!!

I'm surprised at the people bragging that this was easy. I found it to be counterintuitive.
