I always seem to get to the very end of these and have trouble figuring out the number code. I have all the info I need for it, but I just can't figure it out.

*yeah* boiled potato with butter! best game ever.

a quick walkthrough for the crazy door code... first:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
find four places where white and black items form patterns. each pattern spells out a different letter. if you've found them all, you'll have the letters:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
O (on the Othello table), P (in the jars and pots on the bookshelf), E (inside the red cabinet) and N (inside the blue cabinet).

...then:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
go play with the keypad. form each letter shape and hit the green button. you should see a different picture in the little grey screen for each letter shape. to decode these...
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
try cutting each image in half... and pay attention only to the right-hand side.

and if you're still stuck and just can't stand losing, the code is:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
5937
