Interview Room Escape

I'm sure there's a whole "escape the room" type goal to Interview Room Escape, but to be honest with you I've just become fixated on playing with the moving fan. I love the fan. Can we have more fans in games please? [subbed by zodiac].

Being unable to understand the language really stumps me in this game.
I can guess only so much, but clearly I miss a lot of details.
Oh well.

Visually, this game is absolutely amazing. :o)

On the stickers of the hats,
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
there are symbols that I think might be the hat owner's names. I matched them up with the same symbols on the hat holes. I only have three hats, though, so I don't know if that does anything yet.

I like shaking the plant...

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
and a leaf fell off. There is a switch back there to stop the fan.

But I like shaking the plant anyway. Ha ha!

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
i shook the plant, and then the leaf fell, and then i used the hidden switch to stop the fan.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
there was a key in the fan and i used it to open the locker. in the locker there was another hat.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
i have 3 hats with names and one without . matched them up with the labels on the rack . the one spot that didnt have a hat, i put the nameless one there . nothing happened .

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
i also found a fire extinguisher. the picture on the dresser says the fire extinguisher goes in the yellow square on the floor . but i think there is another fire extinguisher.

my current inventory : night sky image, fire extinguisher, and weird white board thing from side of locker.

ok where are the 4 hats I seem to be missing a major thing in the game here!!
Comment 13, Friday, 30 Jan 2009 14:40:17

There is a sticker somewhere
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
to put on the nameless hardhat. It was inside the clipboard, if I remember correctly, which is probably not. :D

Where is the fourth hat? Or rather, where is the hardhat which I do not yet have? Ha ha!

the order of the thingies on the table with the person pointing at them, can be changed . if you put them in the right order, the whole thing elevates and unlocks the drawer beneath it.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The fire extinguisher does go on that yellow taped spot, but it needs a holder first.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The holder is in the cabinet. There is a key hidden in the bottom of the upper left drawer. False bottom.

I got the key to the drawer by

completing the slide puzzle that is revealed when all four hardhats are in place.

Things are definitely different from game to game... item location, numbers, codes. Yuck. Not very conducive for helping each other, is it? :o)

and as for the slide puzzle and the hard hats, where the heck is that sticker? i cant find it anywhere !
Comment 25, Friday, 30 Jan 2009 15:10:23

Do you have the thing that looks like a clipboard with a clear top that has two very small plastic clasps on the left? You can open that thing and I think the sticker might have been in there. I was doing some random clicking for a bit and I don't remember exactly. Things kinda bounced around on their own. So sorry!

Anyone know

what temperature you're supposed to set the water to?

Also, if anyone has the

little yellow tag where the white part rotates around, the red symbol means "closed" and the blue means "open," if I remember correctly...
but I have no idea what to do with it. ;o)

Super Secret Screwdriver Hiding Place Which You Very Well Might Not Find On Your Own:

I smoked my cancer stick, and the room started to fill with smoke, so turned the fan back on. I wonder if I should have waited until it was completely full of smoke, because nothing happened. Hm... I did put the butt in the red thing that has a lid that looks like a die, though.

Comment 40, Friday, 30 Jan 2009 15:38:36

Okay. I'm stuck.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
I have all of those digit cards in place, but am not sure what the code is.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
There are two clear plastic sheets that when flattened and put in my handy clipboard thing, gave me an order for the shapes and the corresponding numbers, which would make sense, but...

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
I have numbers for the triangle, square, star and circle, but have too many (or not enough) digits for the digit things on the door.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
I also have the top right drawer opened, which has the "activate" button for the digits.

Hmmm...

use the circle to figure out the last number, but leave it out on the door

My star number was found by

the spaces on the sign on the door are as follows: the first two are for the year, the second two are for the month, the big spaces at the bottom are for the day...but this is where I get confused...the smaller spaces next to the year and month are also for "day" but I can't read the two kanji after "day." Which would probably be REALLY HELPFUL. Also, the year may not necessarily correspond to the Gregorian Calendar (2009 A.D.). In Japan, they also use the "in the year of our emperor" system...FYI, this is the 21st year in the reign of the current emperor.

But again, I don't know which system they're using in this game... :op

LadyLRH,

Oh! I think I remember where the last sheet is.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Did you figure out where to use the screwdriver yet? And find the sign?

And thanks for the help with the star number. I think those are the only two items that I never tried combining...
Comment 48, Friday, 30 Jan 2009 15:50:10

Oh, wait. Never mind. I think I already have the equation. I have a string of symbols followed by an equal sign. Is that it?
