I don't think I'm seeing the same game ... will try and show you a picture but for instance, I don't see the sunflowers painting nor the nameplace - I just see a squiggly painting.

turn towards the wall and you will see the paintings

Which panel? I've clicked it like crazy - and bashed the hinges. the sliding things won't budge. the plate won't pick locks... :(

Hi - I have turned all four ways and can see paintings - but they aren't recognisably anything. The image at the top of this page clearly shows "Sunflowers" but I just see smudgy daubed paintings. However, the rest of the game is sharp and clear. It's odd! Also, I can't see any nameplate but I can see one in the image at the top of this page.

ampuzzled - you can move forwards too - and click the pics to look a bit closer.

Yep - am using the four red arrows to move around. Browser set at 100%. Tried in Firefox. Bizarre. Can anyone tell me how to post a screenshot?

OK, I've opened 1 panel using

the nameplate from the missing painting
.

That seems to be all I can do anywhere. This one is turning out to be tough (at least for me).

I just fried my brain trying to use the paperclip on the wires... =[

Comment 29, Thursday, August 7th 2008 02:26:27 PM

Sanity

:
screwdriver

HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
the nameplate IS good for one thing, and what its good for gives you a chance to use the paperclip. used properly, it will give you access to the key and the screwdriver

i don't know how good of a hint that'll be, but i didn't want to spell it out.

Comment 30, Thursday, August 7th 2008 02:28:34 PM

Sanity

:
Lithina,
like in a lot of games, sometimes it is necessary to alter an object before it can be used. Play with the paperclip.

okay, i am really dense. i need a bit more help with this wire problem

Comment 34, Thursday, August 7th 2008 02:45:36 PM

Hi everybody. The wires are not to be 'cut', the golden spots are contact points, so you can connect the currents between them.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Use the paperclip in the correct shape to connect the correct two wires and you will progress

*LOL*... "The glass is specially made to resist a red and yellow screwdriver."

Obviously, I have the screwdriver and key... but so far, I've found them to be utterly useless... :(

I am stuck. Have the nameplate, stick, paper, paperclip. I found 2 panels, can't do anything with them except "whack the hinges a few times for good measure".

Walkthrough:
Off of the walls get:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
A wallplate
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
In the blank space on the wall

A stick
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
On the bottom-right of the frame of 'Le Moulin de la Galette'

Use one of the items to get
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the paper from the trash can

Once you have that, zoom out and
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
doubleclick it to view it closer, then open it and get the paperclip

Behind the back of the counters
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
are two panels, one of which can be opened with the wallplate

Once you've gotten in there, you need to find a way to
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
short a connection
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
use the paperclip. If you're zoomed out to the main room you can double-click it and form it into different shapes

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the correct connection is the one indicated by "power"

This opens up the display case so you can get
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the screwdriver and key. You have to be on the 'front' side of the case (between both cases) or you can't lift the glass

Use one of these items on
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the panel near the door, and then use
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the paperclip

Inside there is
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
more wires. The clue to this one is on the paper in the display case. It is a reference to South Park
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
"step three: profit!" -- Step one is something, step two is nothing, step three is profit
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Connect the #1 wire and #3 wires.. you will have to zoom out of the panel to adjust your paperclip before this step

Escape!

OK, the reference to South Park is pretty obscure (I personally HATE the show). Otherwise a decent game, but without the walkthrough I'd have never gotten out...(THANX Heloed)

I can't get out even with the walkthrough. The "panel near the door"? The locked lock? Neither key nor screwdriver works there. Neither key nor screwdriver works on the other panel (twin to the one where you use the name plate).

FINALLY figured out the navigation, so I can get where I need to go, but nothing works when I get there. This is way too annoying.

Gads, never mind. That old power of post thing.

The only thing more frustrating than trying to understand the game is trying to understand the walkthroughs. I just don't get it.

BUT -

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the "panel" people are talking about is on the SIDE of the display case...not the back. Use the nameplate to unscrew the panel so you can get to the screwdriver and key.

After that, I'm stuck.

Once u have all the items proceed to the door.
zoom into lock and use screwdriver on hinges.
reshap the paper clip to insert into top hinge hole and remove cover to expose new set of wires.
reshape paperclip again to connect the 1st and third wire, your out!
