Ikariam

I must admit that Ikariam is not my kind of game at all (at least not after loosing far too much of my life to Civilization II back in the 90's anyway), but if you like city building games, that suck up every ounce of your free time for eons and eons, then this one is a beaut. Play for free on-line, registration is required, but given that you're not going to play it in one sitting (please don't even try), that's kind of understandable [subbed by Mirracle].

From what I can tell so far (about four minutes) all you do is click to build then wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait,...

And wait some more.

Apparently there is no way to organize or direct your population; no way to increase production or collection of anything; and nothing to do while you wait for a structure to be built.

They should rename this game "YEAST". All you do is stir it up then wait for several hours.

made me miss civilization (the game) so much that i went to amazon and bought civIII complete for 13 bucks, lol.

this game is slow, but it's kind of nice in the sense that you can set things up and check on them periodically during the day (at work...), instead of having to spend a block of time focusing on it.

if anyone's interested in starting a lazylaces alliance (when people get to that point - i haven't progressed far enough yet myself), look me up:

anyways to get gold fast just sell marble at 50g<hint/> each i got 4.5 out of my 5.3 million by selling just that.
to get ships you need shipyards(wich is reaserched)
and for those of you who ask steam giants have 30% extra attack when they are in defence
to get 100% protection from your wall it needs to be at the same level as your town hall
and to get nearly everything else you need to reaserch, so better upgrade your academy:)

and it took me 4 months to get me 27 000 points,so dont rush.
