Les Nuits Des Clans
I suspect a lot of the mystery I'm experiencing whilst playing Les Nuits Des Clans is to do with me not understanding enough French to know what is going on more than anything else, although the game is clearly meant to have a mystical air, with it's Celtic island setting, and blue toned graphics, not to mention the whole Scottish clan thing (whose relevance I didn't grasp at all). Anyway, during the game you point'n'click your way around the island trying to find mini games to play as far as I've been able to work out (the mini games fall into the category of arcade style logic puzzles from what I have seen), and that's pretty much it - although I suspect there is a greater overall goal to work out in here somewhere. Perhaps one of the greatest challenges of the game though, at least for non-French speakers is even starting to play.... you have to register (apologies to all of you who hate registering for anything), and then sign back in, all in French. It's somewhat baffling, but if I managed to do it, I'm sure you'll get through it... [subbed by Minxxo].

Hello, for all of those who are lost in translation, the purpose of the game is to explore the whole island, play the mini games and collect pieces of a sentence that say "open the gates of the castle and find the path to the light". Once you've done it all, you can play another mini game at the castle at the top left corner of the screen.
The idea is to score as many points as possible in the games as there is a drawing to win a Nintendo Wii and your chances increase with your score. (that is why you have to register). Unfortunately, that's only for participants living in France.
That being said, one or two mini games are quite fun, other than that the whole game isn't very interesting...

My French is adequate but my gameplaying isn't.

I can subscribe, read about the background story and even get into a game playing screen. There I can find and play one minigame and look around. Nothing else is clickable! What am I doing wrong?

I like to play games that have a bit more skill involved! A good site for games like this is

www.winvme.com

It has free games and games you can "gamble" on - ultimately though it is about online multiplayer skill gaming!

And because the games are skill based, the more skill you have the more likely you are to WIN!

Fairyhedgehog--

Are you sure you've looked around hard enough? It can be difficult to find some of the minigames. Try going around the border of the island and then working your way in.

Thanks, Minxxo :) I hadn't spotted some of the navigation arrows and was only going sideways.

As I said, my French is better than my gameplaying!
