Mohinder's Office
First up - a warning - and this is going to upset some of you - but I think Mohinder's Office is one of those BBC games that they have restricted to UK only players. I could be wrong, and even if I'm right sometimes it doesn't work out where you are correctly anyway, so it's still worth a try even if you are outside the UK, but apologies from me up front if you can't get this one to work. It's also probably worth trying both the direct game link and the launch page.

Right anyway, so if you can play, what is this all about? Well it's a point'n'click exploration of Mohinder's Office from the TV show Heroes - the TV show that The BBC "discovered" by watching which shows, imported from the US, did well on obscure UK cable channels and then buying the rights for themselves. There are games to be found within the office, and more content is to be added over the coming weeks [subbed by Johnny Falcon].

Seeing as it is a US TV show you would think they would at least let americans play it

The plural of Hero is Heroes, at least in English if not in American.

Game looks good, but I watched heroes last night and it seemed like a bad cross between a horror version of mean girls and terminator.

Usual c**p of BBC not sharing!! This makes me cross cos I pay sky for the bbc channels!! Watched the full Heroes series on SciFi - finished a week b4 bbc and irish channels got it - and really enjoyed it. Its a bit bizarre a the start but stick with it for a few eps at least b4 you decide its not for you. Would like to be able to at least try the game!! Ah well never mind.

My family has watched Heroes from the beginning and loves it. Not real happy with the whole "don't live in the UK, can't play the game" thing. I like the show and would like to be able to play the game. Oh well. On to better things.

That's crappy that it's an American show, which is one of my favorites, and they won't let Americans play! Why the discrimination?

I hate how they've made the game s available to UKers only. I think it kinda defeats the purpose. Maybe someone can figure out a way to fool BBC into thinking you live in the UK?

I don't know where some of you are that "should" be getting it, but I live in Guernsey and played it no problems last night. I even thought of subbing it, but forgot.

So I suggest that before we each say that you can't get it working, we at least state where we are?

I'm guessing Vanderhum, that you are in ireland?

NOOOOOO!!! i LOVE heroes, and here they go and put up a site I can't even access... *sigh*

how do they restrict them? is there any simple-ish way around it?

But I still don't get why they dont let Americans play it when it is a US TV show!!

:
I sent a polite email letting them know that I enjoy the show here in the US, and I'm disappointed that they created a game off of a US show without allowing US players access.

Just use a UK proxy to play it, That is find a proxy server with a UK IP address and have your browser use it to load that site.

Comment 31, Thursday, July 26th 2007 09:59:24 PM

Dtime35

:
A proxy and a link to how to use them. Though I have no clue if this one works but they are UK.

Yep, it IS tiresome when the WORLD WIDE web doesn't live up to its name. However, for those of you unable to play this game, now you know how we feel! There are several American sites the rest of the word can't have access to.

Did Dtime35's solution work for the non-UK people?

I'm in UK and I liked the looking round the room bit. The running game was extremely boring and the spider game was yukky. So not one of my favourites overall.

Mapleleafgirl, for the Caboose,
HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
you need to do a running jump from the pipes on the previous Carriage.
