Covert Front #1
Some absolutely superb news in my in-box this morning from Murtaugh, creator of the sublime Submachine Series, he's kicked off a completely new point'n'click series, "Covert Front".

"In Covert Front you are a secret agent code-named Kara in an alternate history version of World War I. Assigned to infiltrate the mansion of a German scientist, Karl von Toten, you must discover the secrets that lie within and escape with your life.".

Chapter 1, "All Quiet On The Covert Front", is out to play today, with more to come, although there's no schedule for later chapters as yet [subbed and created by Murtaugh].

to get the key in the basement

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

hook up the hose and then go back outside. go to the left side of the entrance where the grate thing is and open it with the crowbar..then go down and turn the wheel before heading back down to the basement and using the lever this time where you attached the hose. this should drain the basement allowing you access to the key

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
You have to empty the water from the basement to get a silver key. Attach the hose to the machine at the entrance to the flooded room. Use the crowbar from the closet under the stairs on the sewer cover outside and turn the valve. To open the closet, use the ice pick from the kitchen drawer. Go back to the basement and flip the switch on the hose machine.

I'm so bummed it's to be continued! I thought it was really put together well though. Is this from the makers of "Submachine", same kind of style.

I refuse to look at any clues for this one until I am sure that I cannot find or do anything. I got as far as obtaining the Crowbar, Matches, Signet Ring, Plans, and Unrecognized object. I will give a second attempt when I think things over.

WOW I can't wait for the next bit. I actually managed to get through it on my own so double wow!
I really liked the Submachine series, and this is just as good. Are the puzzles slightly easier or is my brain just more switched on and logical today?

I did most of that on my own. I usually get so frustrated that I give up and look at all the clues hoping someone will post a walkthru but I did quite well on my own. Yeah me!

But thanks for the walkthru, I missed a few bits and could quite get the books.

Head back upstairs. In the hallway, under the stairway on the right (very hard to see) is a small storage doorway. Click on it to zoom in, use the icepick on it to unlock it.
