Island Escape
In Island Escape your plane has crashed on a tropical island and you and the other passengers are lost (no, not that kind of lost). You must find a point'n'click way to get off the island [subbed by Stewart].

I have fire, a bandage and a fish that i have used. I don't know what to do with the guy checking the bag with the books, the girl playing golf or the archer. Any help ?

For the archer:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Go to the campfire screen and click on the pile of sticks to the left until you find the spear(or arrow I guess), then give it to the archer.

Where do you use the fish?

Not sure about book bag either - bandage?

About the golf and hunter:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

In background of the fire-starter, there is a ball in the guy's pocket. Get it, then place it for the golfer. Click the golfer to swing - took quite a number of tries, seems to be random, but keep setting the ball down and 'swinging' until you sink one.
For the two guys with the fish-sticks, there is also a pile of logs. Keep click, click, clicking away at each log until you uncover the arrow. Give it to the hunter, then try to hit the hog as it runs past - keep leaving and returning the screen if you miss.

Cheers,

Dan

book bag:

There is something you can grab while his hand is moving. I don't think is shows up until everything else is completed. Right-click zoom helps a little.

HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)

What about those dudes with the bottle? anything to do there?

How about the guy in the plane? - he's poking at something, and if you zoom in and click on the bottom crease in the front of his shirt (random, I know...) you can control the poking.

Any thoughts?

Dan

Comment 18, Wednesday, April 11th 2007 08:55:15 AM

HunterThompsonWanabe

:
No idea.

Have you noticed that some items move to the bottom of their boxes when used? Others don't. Maybe they need to be used again? Or maybe I'm overthinking?

dont worry about the guy in the plane

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
if you made fire -gave fish away-gave fire away-took bandage-used bandage- made golfer make a put-shot pig
you can take something from the bag- you will notice what it is since it's kinda obvious. And you also will know how to use it

and..finished

As a side note, if you're good, you can hit the crabs as they pass with the golf ball - I've only hit the slower one - I wasn't quick enough to get the first....

For pig:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
re-enter the shooting screen so your mouse is already on the left, near archer. Click archer immediately. You'll hit the pig . . . eventually.

Ok got it....no need to take water....just use it

Comment 34, Wednesday, April 11th 2007 09:09:26 AM

A better targeting system would be nice - for example, once you place the golf ball in the 'tee', a power bar raises and lowers, so we'd only have to time it to get the proper power level (not too weak, and not too strong). Likewise for the hunter, the pig could be still, only the hunter's aim is jittery, and you'd have to time it. I like being able to control thing a bit, rather than randomly click and hope things go right. Anywhere to direct these kinds of comments?

Thanks,

Dan

Some creators ask for input, most don't. If they don't, then rating the game on LL is about the best you can do. Maybe the creator will see it.

indeed Dan, targetting is not easy to handle..especially for the pig! it took me ages to get it!! but otherwise the game is fun. I like the idea that you have to complete some tasks to get access to more characters and objects...

Yeah, I figured that, thanks. Funny though - without some kind of input, how could a game developer know what aspects were good or bad? Anyway, good day all.

Found the bandage and helped that guy, got the fire started, got a fish, got the arrow and helped get the pig, found the ball and helped get a hole-in-one. Went brain dead after that.

To get the boar easier, as well as the note when everything else is done...

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

Well, this might feel like a hack to most, but here it is:
First, reduce the priority of your browser (this can be done with the windows task manager, ctrl+shift+esc, Processes tab, right click on the process of your browser, set priority, low)
Second, run something CPU intensive. If your machine is Hyperthreaded, or multicore, you will need to run more CPU intensive things. This might be tricky for a standard machine to accomplish. I personally use a program that most installs will not have (called yes), so you will have to be imaginative.
This will significantly reduce the execution speed of the flash player.
Try again, everything will be a lot slower now (to the point of being annoying the other way around).
Once you are done with the tricky part, do not forget to give the normal priority back to the browser, otherwise, it will become slow for no reason
YMMV
