So the news on the grapevine is that the new Sony Bravia Ad (remember the bouncing balls?) is out tomorrow (at 20:45GMT my sources tell me, which makes me guess the UK is getting it first, they didn't mention a channel, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say ITV1 is the spot to watch). The behind the scenes video link I got sent gives you a flavour of what might be involved, but if you check youtube you can find clips that are a bit more revealing. The only question remaining is, after it airs tomorrow, where will you be able to see it first? The offical site, or youtube?

Emma
:Yep, ITV1 just after the match, I would say. Sounds like a safe bet. Ooh, exciting stuff!
JhInG
:ummm what's exciting about a tv ad? just curious
Lostinwashington dc
:In Washington, DC here, it's up on BRAVIA's website for me.
It's amazing, JhIng, that's why. If you haven't seen the bouncing ball ad- I'd recommend it.
Jodi
:I like the bouncy ball one better. The paint one is great but I think they should've used better music.
Cheryl
:Nice ad, wonder who got to clean up the mess?
Samthehobbit
:the movie has been updated it now shows much more
Lee
:jhing i think you cant vote on it because you can only vote on the games
Karma
:Hiya
I'm a long time *lurker* and first time commenter! :)
The ad was shot in Toryglen, Glasgow during the summer. They didn't have too much paint to clean up as the flats they used are due to be demolished soon. I can still see the paint on one or two of them from my window (about 2 miles away). Sony held a party for all of the residents and it even made the local papers!

:@Lee
CDX3 & Cluedo(Final Episode) doesn't have a rating system put in either and both are games :D
Kryptone24
:The advert is so cool, it actually made my eyes sting like powder pain had got into them!
Doc
:Geez, how much did that cost? Five? Ten million dollars? I'd rather get my new TV for a hundred or so less!
Couldn't they have presented the same effect via CGI, at 1/10th the cost?
This appears to be corporate public masturbation, stating that 'we can spend YOUR money frivolously and wastefully'.
No paint is 'environmentally friendly'! It may very well be water soluble, and wash away, but many of the 'PC ' paints substitute MERCURY for LEAD! What they mean to say is that this paint is LESS damaging that other paints. Couldn't they have presented the same effect via CGI, at 1/10th the cost?

I have a very serous urge to do some finger painting now

:Having just seen it I must admit I feel quite disappointed. The first one was fantastic as it was a perfect blend of music and artistic film direction. This advert felt like Sigue Sigue Sputniks second single. Too much hype and not enough value.
JhInG
:Yup, me too... still don't see what all the hoopla's all about... Just another adver to me.
Think~Pink
:Fantastic explosion of colour, which I suppose is the point, but for me, it didn't have the same impact as the first one.
I liked the new one, it reminded me of a musical fountain, and although the music fit very well, it just didn't gel like the bouncy ball ad.
I can still watch those bouncy balls flying down the street and get goosebumps, but that does have a lot to do with the accompanying soundtrack. Jose Gonzalez' song is just so right for that ad.
Nice looking, but I'll take the bouncy balls :o)
BTW, that clown is seriously scary *shudder*
Greenman
:Saw it tonight-wondered what the hell it was at first but like the spheres on the last one, very cleverly done not sure what the clown was doing!
Andy from Encino
:What I want to know is when they'll start selling those TV's in Los Angelels. Oh yeah!
Vanny
:Great ad... argentinean creator! :D.... good for him...
Bez
:The cleaning took 5 days and 60 people. Thankfully, the use of a special water-based paint made it easy to scrape-up once the water had evaporated.

curious
not able to view it tho. some kind of quicktime problem...

:@JhInG: the cluedo and cdx thing are not the mention of the game but of new episodes, so graeme filed them under "info"
(which you can read in the small gray bit with the date:)
Karstenmp
:Graeme. I just want to tell you that, lazylaces.com don't load in Denmark. And to all other i'm using http//:lazylaces.brinkster.net , which works fine. Thank you Graeme for the tip you gave me to this alternative URL....
JhInG
:@Bez a bez
Good eye, I missed that bit 'bout the "info" thing. Still wanna rate those installments of the games though, especially the discriminatory CDX :-"
Zephyr
:lol I get the soundtrack (interrupted every .15 seconds) and no video. kind of misses the whole point of the advert.
Clairevc
:The bouncy ball add i loved and this 1 is really cool! tho i still prefer those ball but this was very cleverly put together!! amazing to see as its like an art form... literally! c it on tv soon
Na
:OMG - I saw the ad last night. In Australia. I was expecting to see it in a couple of months...
I liked it! So much fun! I think my personal favourite is the balls though.
Lenella
:Hey i know this isnt related but, does anyone know the name of the female singer that sings sooooo high?????
its been bugging me for ages!!!!!
cheers!!!!
Frustrated
:I only know of one such a singer....was she singing "loving you, is easy 'cause you're beautiful and everything that I do is out of loving you...." and than she sings "aaaaaa aaa aa aaaa a aaaaa" very very very very high.
Frustrated
:Minnie Riperton her name is and here you can find the lyrics:
http://www.romantic-lyrics.com/ll57.shtml
Kryptone24
:I think you might mean Minnie Ripperton?!
Kryptone24
:Doh! Frustrated - you beat me to it! :)
Lenella
:YAY thankyou people that was who i was looking for!!!! cheers!!! i can sleep now.....
MsSpent Youth
:Nice but unnecessary. Let's just add more chemicals to the environment in order to sell a TV!!! When will the big bods learn that global warming is a serious issue?
Jk
:yep - saw it on tv 2night and yep ok.
Kat (the other one)
:Hm. The ad has been on TV where I live for ages. I'm just not impressed at all. If I don't have the right TV yet, I'm going to be even more unimpressed, right? So why even show it to me? Who has the desire to see couloured bouncy balls, of all things, in high definition? Yawn.
JhInG
:My sentiments exactly...
By the way, Graeme must be busy preparing for Jennifer's arrival on Saturday or something coz he's been totally slacking off on new posts... especially as there's new games these days...
Then again, it might be *shudders* work related :D
Grumpy in Boise
:please send more games!!!!!!! Has anyone here been playing sam and max and do you know how to knock the little bastards out? Please help!!!!!
Kat (the other one)
:Grumpy, Sam & Max won't be available to anyone outside the US and Canada until November 1st. :(
Plus, even in the US and Canada you have to be a Gametap member to play. You'll have to wait I guess.
Lale
:i saw the ad it was on channel 5 last night. cool!!
Grumpy in Boise
:I am playing it on gametap and its great but I am really stuck.
Sarsi
:where are you graeme?????????
Lola
:where's musical Friday?????!!!!!
Frustrated
:Global warming...i saw the movie of al glore...anyway...very scary...i didnt understand much of it, but i believe we have 15 years to change our poluting habits or we will get boiled like a frog in slowly heated water or so...what bothered me was he never mentioned the sources of his statistics and i dont understand why all the graphs started to go up in the seventies whereas we started to polute as of the eighteenth century...
Frustrated
:*nineteenth century that should be....sigh..
