The Second Door
After the note I got the other day about the upcoming release of The Second Door, it came as no surprise to receive another semi-cryptic note last night (I do enjoy a good cryptic note) telling me that The Second Door is available as of today. Time to unpack, and dust off, your best brain puzzle fans! Here's that email in full for you:

I need your help, the time has come again. The First Door failed, the people chasing me found me first. This time things will be different, this time things will end another way. The Second Door will open. A new path will be revealed. Please, find me. Solve the puzzles once again. Each door will contain a picture, a riddle that you need to solve to open the door and move on. Nothing will be hidden in the source code and the pictures do not need to be altered. Again, all the answers you give are there to help or hinder. Some will lead you to my new location, some will lead others away from me. This time we will succeed. With your help I can escape those chasing me. The Second Door opens, the quest begins anew. This Monday morning everything restarts. Find me again...

Jamper, all the information you need is on the start page. Find the dead end and then find the way to move on.

Whee....

Alright, I waited a while for this one, and now it has me flummoxed.

What is up with the chalkboard page? This is the first "real" puzzle page.

Throw me a bone here, what are we supposed to do? There is no question or riddle posed by the writing on the chalkboard, it does not appear to be a famous quote with an "incorrect" word, and I didn't see anything in the source of the image.

Any help? Anyone?

Sorry, I can't help you but maybe you could help me? I can't get the first page. Have tried 'NewBeginnings' and other things suggested by what's in the before pages but no luck.

Should I have done the First Door first?

Ollie:

Remember the structure of the URL. You want to read the instructions carefully.

This is not really a spoiler since it's taken from the main page:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

So, remember, if you want to go to the door 'Begin Again' and you know the answer was 'To Reach The End' then you would replace 'restart.htm' with 'BeginAgain/ToReachTheEnd.htm'.

...

Don't worry if you are new to this, you will soon understand what to do.
Your task now is to find the first door and go through it. Tell the doorman to 'Open The Door', he is waiting for you at 'New Beginnings'.

You should get a message about the doorman being "a bit of a traditionalist"? Once you figure out the URL structure, the next part is figuring out the riddles.

Apologies if I stuff this up, this is my first comment.

I'm stuck on the chalkboard one too. I've tried things like:

grammar, punctuation

but to no avail.....

i have a feeling that the word is something tha's wrong with the writing ont he chalk board. But i'm stumped anyhow.

And what's with the C-? The writing isn't that bad :P

Comment 15, Monday, October 9th 2006 12:44:07 PM

Glabella

:
It's not the answer, but try putting in what's missing from the writing. It'll give you a hint.

Yeah, I am going on that "grade" in the lower righthand corner.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

Thinking we need to re-spell a word by removing a letter.

Kinda hoping TFD reads this forum soon to give us a hint.....

the phrase "inconsistancy abounds" sounds a bit off... and "eventually it is too late" the expression (as a sentance) is weird. is that a clue perhaps?

Jinkies!

:(

Umm, I believe this has something to do with the "hint" page, however, I'm not sure I am phrasing it correctly.

I have tried

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

Begin, Start, Lead Off, Use, etc

all to no avail. I've got the right idea (I think), I'm just not forming the answer correctly.

CatchTheIncorrect/CapitalLetters.htm yielded this: "They are certainly missing. No wonder this student got a lower grade that he should have done. However, you need to do more to get the answer."

The letters that should be capital, I think: AAILPEDA

And I'll kick myself for this eventually. Not like anyone else does that here... XD

Every sentence has to start with something in particular, and the ones on the board don't. If you find everything that's missing, and

Anyone for the Three towers?

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
It looks like a french flag at the bottom of the 2nd tower. Given the movie French Connection, could that be a clue? But isn't it backwards?

Technically, you are right.

'The' is not normally not included. However, try looking at the title bar or any of my other puzzles. You will see how I include every word in the titles.

P x x x B x x x GL
DZ x x x T x x x HO
