I'm assuming that Back From Emptiness is a point'n'click game in the "escape the room" style. I say assume, as about all there is to see at first glance is a locked door and a window, other than that all there appears to be is a room full of emptiness. With some frantic clicking I have found a discarded match and part of a window blind, but boy is it hard to find anything. Good luck [subbed by Cynthia, Nicop, Tim & winniethepooh].

:How mant match sticks are there? Ive found 6 but cant do anything with them!
Carla
:Phil ... you have to be in a specific part of the room to be able to utilize the sticks .... and there are only 6.
Toch
:Once you get the doorknob, you can

use it to get the nail out of the molding in the screen one to the right of the window.
Chippie
:which part of the window do you have to click to get the moulding out with the doorknob? nothing is happening and the blind doesn't stay up.
Cheezy

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
1. Click on the Bottom Right corner of the Right Blind to pick up a chip of the blind.
2. Turn Left once, look for a match on the floor, left hand side of your screen. Look for a 2nd match in the corner (center screen).
3. Turn Left once, look for a match just to the right of the hole in the corner. And the 4th match is just behind the hole in the corner (Center Screen).
4. Turn Left once, click on the doornob 11 times to unscrew it. Use the blind chip on the bottom left corner of the door. If the scrapings do not appear on your blind chip, they will be on the floor. Make sure you grab them with the chip.
5. Turn Left once, pick up Match #5 to the right of the corner (Center Screen).
6. Turn Left once, pick up Match #6 to the left side of the screen and use the doornob on the nail just to the right of the corner (Center screen). It is sticking out of the baseboard.
7. Turn Right 3 times to the Hole in the floor. Stick 5 matches around the hole. They should have to be done in a certain order, so if it won't go, use another match. When you have all 5 matches down, stick the blind piece with the scrapings on it.
8. Turn Left once, place the HEAD of the match in the keyhole.
9. Turn Right once, place the HEAD of the match in the pentagram. This should blow up the room. Ignore the blood, I'm sure it's yours...
10. You should now be facing the window. Turn Left Twice (Door) and look for the cobweb in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
11. Turn Left Once and use the nail on the center brick of the left most cluster of bricks. Take the brick.
12. Turn Left Once and use the nail on the center brick of the right most cluster of bricks. Take the brick.
13. Turn Right Once. Drop one of the bricks on the ground, place the nail on the brick, use the 2nd brick on the nail. Take the smashed nail.
13. Turn Right 4 times (To the window). Use the cobweb on the top of the left blind to hold it in place. Use the flattened nail on the handle and take the handle.
14. Turn Left Once, take the cracked baseboard from the corner here.
15. Turn Left Twice, use the baseboard piece on the wire beside the door.
16. Turn Left Once, use the handle on the brick on the floor, use the 2nd brick on the handle. Take the handle. Use the wire on the doornob, then use the handle on the wire ends (Strip them).
17. Turn Right Once, use the handle on the wire ends that are sticking out of the wall where you ripped the wire from...it's hard to see them. Look below the bricks left of the door. Connect the Doornob wire to the wall wire to magnetize the nob. Stick the nob-wire-tip to the base of the door to get the key.
18. Use it on the door, and you're done!

:They mean the "screen" to the right of the window.
There's a nail sticking out from the molding.

:SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
you can get a piece of the shade on the bottom right corner, keep clicking
Myira
:i cant
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
get the door knob on the nail....
Myira
:nvm i got it
James
:What is the point of pulling the blind up...or the star shaped matches? Logic?
Paul
:Thanks, Cheezy, for the walkthrough. I would never in a million years have figured that out.
Laverne
:So is it supposed to have suddenly been a broken link or am I hallucinating?
Maximus
:the head of the match would be the black part of the match in this case, correct? because if it is...
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
i can't get the head of the match to go in the keyhole or whatever...nothing is happening...i have done everything else up to that point...
Robo
:Chip of the blind won't stick to the star ... what am I doing wrong??
Foob
:Everytime I try to magnetise that pesky doornop/wire thing, I just get zapped and turned a 180 degrees.. it's not bloody magnetised at all, and I can't attract the pesky key either.. grr grr...frustrating.
Anticon
:Cheezy, how on earth did you figure all that out? that was crazy.
Lurker
:Foob,
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
you have to use the handle, not the doorknob, on the wires first so they go that orangey colour, then put the doorknob on to magnetise. I made that mistake for ages!
Papi MaC
:how/where do you drop the brick?! I've been dragging bricks all over all the screens!
Papi MaC
:aargh got it... nvm
Tafkam
:OMFG. "Leave a room. It is very simple." why on EARTH
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
did you have to put the matches in a specific shape? what were the shavings from the door? what caused the explosion? why did you have to hold up the blind to get the handle? and why did a cobweb hold it up? why did running a current through the doorknob magnetize it? and why did you need a magnetized doorknob to get the key? and what was the key doing hidden in the base of the door?
and who in Hades could have figured that out? it's interesting that the walkthrough linked to on the site (which Cheezy cut and pasted) is the only English entry -- everything else is in Russian.
i suspect "Angel Ann" made the game in the first place.
Jelly
:i couldn't do it ............ the last step and i couldn't do it
sigh another day in Jelly hood
Tess
:Jelly you have to first drag the handle down to the wires to make the ends turn orange then drag the doorknob down to the wires and that will magnetize it, then just use the doorknob on the bottom of the door to get the key:^)
Jelly
:thxs tess
Jellybean
:I have a doorknob tied up in wire. I have orange ends on the wire. If the cursor is on the wire in the wall when I click, I get zapped and turn around to look at the window. If I don't click the cursor on the wire in the wall, nothing happens. How the heck do you do this?
Bojangling
:Jellybean-
HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
Wires have 2 ends
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
You have to make sure you strip both ends of the wire, both on the doorknob and on the wall. Use the handle on both to strip. Now you will see orange ends on the doorknob in your inventory and orange ends on the wire in the wall.
Champ
:where is the stupid nail!???
Katelyn
:ughhhh someone please help...i have done everything magnetized the nob and can't place it on the door to get hte key for soome odd reason. please help!!!!!!!!!!!
Katelyn
:omg nvm i had the key and didn't know...wow....
Sc
:help!!!!!!!!! can't even find the stupid wire everybody's talking about!
Sc
:that is... the wire beside the door that you're supposed to use the baseboard on.
Kat
:Fun little game. I cheated, of course. But still...I liked it when you could zap yourself. Hehe. Also, Russin looks like a very complicated language...
P.S: Katelyn, you spell your name as I do! I haven't met many Katelyn's that spell it that way. Normally there is an i, c, or...who knows whatever else crawling about in there. :D
BILLIEBABES
:good game, bit annoying, and by the way the walkthrough that cheesy gave out was a cut and paste plus it was missing stuff as well and wasnt very well explained i always read the comments after playing a game to see wat others thought of it, oh well, oh and i got a bit worried about the ill-logical side of things if u had lost that much blood you would be dead for example loads of faults but all in all good could have been a bit more complex though.
Visual
:FIN!
Sweeet.. that passed some time..
Gotta love the help you ppl give so freely! Cheers..
Deschain
:I'd call it a ridiculous game design. Unless it's just me, how is anyone supposed to know what to do with hidden matches and random spots on the carpet and all the rest of it. I don't know how you could finish the game without help...
Alison
:god i can b so dumb both the wall wires and doorknob wires need stripping but at least i did it in the end! YAY!
Chrissy
:I must be doing something wrong I can't get anything to work I pick up the Matchis. But can't see the invatory {Not sure if I am even supose to be able to}. So if anyone can help and tell me what I am doing wrong. I would love to know.
Sioneld
:Ok. There is no way in hell I'd have figured that out without a walk through! Sometimes these games are too hard, too intuitive.
Sioneld
:Oh and Chrissy - to access your inventory press any key on the keyboard. Comes up looking like a cloud.
Chrissy
:Thank you I got it I AM FREEE!
Karen
:Here's my crappy unrealistic explanation (storyline) about the early logic behind it...do not take it seriously XD (let's just say I'm way too bored)
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The main character (you) was preparing to move out the room. When he was in the room, he accidentally dropped his keys outside the room and locked himself in the room.
Which means? HE HAS THE ESCAPE THE ROOM~ MUHAHH
So he looks around and found matches all around the place (because he's a smoker) An idea popped up and he thought about the rituals from the five pointed star. By making a five pointed star in one of the corners and putting scraps of dust (paint in this case, but think about it, dust is pratically made out of anything) into the center of the star then light it up, it absorbs the energy in the spiritual world and transfers as a physical energy in our world. However, the energy is too strong. And hence you see the blood. (or maybe the energy of the star saved him?)
So the rest you can figure out because I NEED TO SLEEP XD
Kristy
:Man...that was horrible!!! I'm all the way at the end, with the help of the spoilers/walkthrough of course, and even with my "magnetized knob" i can't get the key!!! pooey!
Sherylynne
:That was really dumb. Usually with these games there's some kind of logic behind it so you can figure things out, but this one was just weird and incomprehensible. Thanks for the walkthrough - couldn't have done it otherwise.
Me,myself,and i
:I CAN'T GET THE KEY!!!!
I KNOW HOW TO I JUST CAN'T GET IT!!!!!!
SOME ONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kitsomae
:@ Kristy- I'm having the same problem. The magnetized knob is working perfectly, but I can't seem to reach for the key.
I can see it. *___* It's. Right. There. But whenever I try to reach for it, the screen blinks back to the door. D:
I even clicked the key. O_O; The same result. Am I suppose to have something else?
It's really irritating.
