Eurostar Quest
If you've been moping around the house pondering how empty your life is since the end of the Da Vinci Code Quest, have no fear the Eurostar Quest is here. It's another Da Vinci Code game (sponsored by Eurostar) with plenty of puzzles and a chance to win prizes galore. Also, of course, it means you have a chance to redeem yourself if you didn't manage to get through to the final of the last one and you're still feeling bitter about it [subbed by Fiona & sopdox].

Now lets get logged in! :)

Very difficult to register if you are not from the five or so "main" countries represented... Gave up as in the first page they did have my home sweet thome (Finland it is, not a tiny country in the middle of nowhere - wel, actually...!) but in the register form it had disappeared.

Currently confused, but let me know if it is any good - might use my secret idetity Ms Abigail "the Brit" Abbott. =o)

Well, I got to the part with the timed puzzle. So far my best time is 43.60 sec, and I only have 1 chance left out of three. Ooh, wish me luck, and good luck to everyone else!

are they really giving away that "ultimate prize"? If so that is pretty much the greatest prize EVER!

anyway I am stuck on the V&A museum, where you have to figure out the "quaint joke".

I'm also stuck at the V&A

"Can you find the quaint joke, fondly applied to define the area he loved so much?"

Comment 14, Friday, May 12th 2006 10:04:00 AM

Gorgeousplanet

:
As for the gear one annemarie, if you spin the gears so the middle circle has a word in it (like bridge, queens, kings, knights) and then push the middle button and then spin the circle so the outer one makes the word that goes with it. soemthing along those lines, although so far i havent gotten any answers :D

for the V&A one, if you could remind me with a little more detail, i might be able to help, it was quite a few puzzles ago, hehe

Gorgeousplanet - There are pictures and descriptions of areas around the V$A (I think), Royal College of Music, Abert Memorial, Royal Albert Hall & Queens Tower. The full question is:

"This area reflects and celebrates the passion of a great man. Can you find the quaint joke, fondly applied to define the area he loved so much?"

You then have 12 jumbed letters, I have managed to make
ROBERT LAPS OIL !!!

Thanks for your help, but my problem is that the letters in the middle circle dont change? very strange...

ohh, lol, i remember now. the second clue on the pen has the whole word written out, although some of the letters are missing:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
albertopolis is the answer

Comment 18, Friday, May 12th 2006 10:17:00 AM

Jodi

:
referring to V&A your supposed to look at pictures and read descriptions about them and then shuffle letters around guessing what the "quaint joke" is about "this great man's" favorite place (who I am guessing to be Prince Albert)

Comment 19, Friday, May 12th 2006 10:19:00 AM

Gorgeousplanet

:
annemarie, to spin the inner circle, you have to spin the outer circle. when you find a word in the inner circle, thats when you pin it by hitting the middle flowery looking button. then when you spin the outer circle, only the outer circle will spin. as for the answer, i somehow solved it by accident, but didnt get to see what my inner word was at the time
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the outer word was royal if i remember correctly

I'm with Jodi too....all my life I've been avoiding these sliding puzzles because they just make my brain hurt.

I think I might be missing a sliding puzzle gene or something :) It's now the only puzzle I'm missing on level 2.
A walkthrough would therfore be much appreciated.... :)

I had some problems with that last letter to. I can't go back and check so I can't give you the exact location but maybe this will help a little?

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
i don't remember which slide it's on, but I believe it's hidden in a railing of some sort. I got it by some desperat random clicking so it's a little blurred. But if i don't remember wrong it's a picture where there is sky at top and a building in the lower part of the picture, with a railing in between.
