DeadEnd's Hotel
DeadEnd's Hotel is a French horror genre point'n'click game (so in case you can't work it out from that description, it's not one for the kids to play, or you, if you are a big scaredy-cat). Turn the lights down low, and the volume up high, so that the moody graphics and an atmospheric soundtrack can combine to produce a game that will have you hiding behind the sofa before you know it. Especially if that's where you keep your English-French dictionary [subbed by winniethepooh].

I'm going to guess here that if you are having problems playing that you need to make sure you have Flash Player 8 installed (use the 'get flash' link at the bottom of every LL page).

Ohhh - graced by a response from Graeme! :)

True (drat caught out, serves me right for speaking before I think!!!)

I was just pointing out that a lot of the games are different nowadays and miss the regular games/posts (can hid the old P&C games quite well while working)

I am no good at all the quiz things and a attention level of a goldfish, so just like the P&C games as they were (mind you there have been a few more of these recently!)

I just want the old graeme back with all the techie and geeky comments along the way (does put a smile on my face)! :)

maybe I'm turning into Victor Meldrew!!!! (ohhh god)

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
I don´t remember where, but I found tweezers in the bedroom and with them I pulled out a key from the drain in the shower. Later I found a wrench - don´t ask me where, but when I tried to use it in the bathroom at the washbowl, blood and toothy worms came out and the game was over...

You have to read the note on the table first !

translate :

1- alone in the room
2- child toys
3- help in the vent or areage
4- then a cry

and you have the order for the code !

Hi! It's my first comment at this site! I tried this game, but I'm always game over!
I have:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

1. tweezers - they are in the bottle over the sink
2. use the tweezer with the drain in the shower - you will get a key
3. use the key with the second drawer on the desktop - you will get a wrench
4. use the wrench on the sink

that's all I have. I'm always game over and don't know why and what to do!
PS: sorry for my English, because I'm a German girl and can't speak english very well!

HINT: (click box to highlight/fade)
watch the tv then "shake them all about"
.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
6843 was my code, but it might be randomized
.

Yes! Be patient. I don't have Firefox, but it did eventually open in Explorer. Just bear with the black screen for a while -- go and make a cup of tea or something, then come back and play. :)

you have to click on the worms then the game reloads & you then use the revolver you found in the briefcase to shoot them. use your mouse as a target

I kept losing at shooting the worms, so gave up. I couldn't be bothered to do it all again from the start. I have the attention span of a gnat.

I got the gun, tweezers, wrench, and the key, but every time I try to kill the worms I keep dying.. can any1 help?

I've done it all, too, up to killing all the worms. Not going to go through all that again unless the payoff is worth it. Anyone get past the worms? (Flash 8 and Firefox here. Worked fine.)

Don't wait for the worms to attack you. Start clicking around
as the sink fills with blood!

I'm guessing it's a slow loader.
In both firefox and IE it takes forever.
I guess you'll have to be paitent or just not play.

Here is a mini walkthrough for what I have so far taht I copied from my post on Nordinho:

Note: If you fail any of the mini-games you have to start over from the start. See note in spoilers on how to skip the worm sequence entirely.

Slider Clue:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Click on picture, note what you see

Tweezers:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Enter the bathroom and get the tweezers from off the medicine shelf

Small key:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Look in the shower, click the drain with the tweezers to unclog it and get the key

Wrench:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Use key on drawer and get the wrench

TV:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Look at television and look carefully at the images
you should see 4 numbers[/SPOILER]
CODE Component:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
4683

Worms:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
I used the wrench on the sink and blood came out and I think I got eaten by toothy toilet-worms and then it said game over. I need a weapon first...

Suitcase:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
There Must be a way to open the suitcase...

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The TV... those numbers....

Code Tip:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
the numbers are right, but wrong order, maybe that note in french would help. For those who don't want to translate, order is: Girl, baby doll, airfan, scream. Edit: This might randomize, I am not sure.

Final Code:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
6843

WORMS TIP:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
NOW I can go open the drain and kill those suckers! Aim for the mouth! EDIT: there is a glitch in the game! You don't have to kill the worms, just click around the sink while it is filling with blood to skip this part.

Box:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The room returns to normal. Click on the now safe toilet and a box should appear, click it.

Slider Puzzle:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Great, a slide puzzle. Solve it, if you don't, you guessed it: "Game over". Luckily we took a look at the picture of the skull over the bed before so we know what we are working with. If you win you get a cassette.

Cassette:
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Put the cassette in the player in the desk, you will get a room key.

Here is where I am now stuck, you would think that this would be the key to escape becasue I think the item description translates to "Key to the room" but when I try to use it, nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Comment 41, Friday, May 12th 2006 04:25:00 AM

Lin

:
ok did everything now i am stuck with the final key and it open anything not the door or any windows so do i end the game

has anyone got out yet i need help with the second key what is it to

Comment 43, Friday, May 12th 2006 04:55:00 AM

Warchild

:
Valarie, your "dead people robot thingies" description made me
laugh. Those guys can be easily shot.

Laura, If you had the key from the tape player, did you
remember to click on it before using the door? You forgot
to mention about shooting the dead people robot thingies,
unless you found a way around them! They show up after
playing the tape.

Comment 44, Friday, May 12th 2006 04:59:00 AM

Laura

:
I remembered to select the key, it doesn't work. I didn't encounter any dead robot thingies. I guess clicking around works for that too. I didn't even realise they were supposed to be there because it just goes all red and wierd after the tape player and then I clicked and it was normal. I tried playing the tape again in case I glitched it, but it won't do anything either.

Comment 45, Friday, May 12th 2006 05:07:00 AM

Warchild

:
Laura, If you wait until the tape finishes playing, that's when the
dead robot thingies attack. Start shooting them and after killing
6 or 7 of 'em, you should be able to escape.

Comment 46, Friday, May 12th 2006 05:15:00 AM

Laura

:
Oh ok, my computer doesn't have speakers so it jsut seemed like a long pause with nothing going on so I started clicking.

Comment 47, Friday, May 12th 2006 05:18:00 AM

Tweetiti

:
Pfft if you don't do the sliding puzzle in time (or is it the number of moves?) you need to start all over again

Comment 48, Friday, May 12th 2006 07:17:00 AM

Valarie

:
Gah..that was the most random ending in the world! I spend a whole hour on it..and then all she does is walkaway?

Comment 49, Friday, May 12th 2006 03:45:00 PM

Binmania

:
where do you click the sink to avoid the worms?
I just can't get past them :-(
