Siren 2
There's some really creepy point'n'click weirdness in Siren 2. This is definitely one to play alone, late at night, with the sound up, in an abandoned mansion, after your car has "broken down", and the children from the village have been mysteriously disappearing, and old man Caruthers, the fairground owner, has been seen out late at night carrying an axe...*ahem*... anyway... What text there is in the game (documents you find, and what have you), is in Japanese, but that's probably a good thing, as I'm sure it would only make the thing even more spook-tastic if you actually understood what was said, and it has spookiness in bucket loads anyway [subbed by eb, winniethepooh & Daremaster Spoodle].

Hehe, right now I have no idea if I finished this game and it just has a bad ending, or if it was a game-over situation.

Didn't understand an inch of it, but it kept me entertained for a while nevertheless..anyone got any pointers? I have problems making a system of my experiences just now, it's all just a mess of different rooms. I'm not even sure of whether entered new rooms, or whether I just return to rooms I've been to previously without recognizing them..
So I don't have any valuable hints just yet. But I'll post some anyway!

There are a lot of things to see and click on, but I found few objects to actually manipulate and get any further with.
Here's the things I've atually managed to DO. I don't think you should expect anything useful (as mentioned above). But here goes:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

With my hammer i smashed a piggiebank and found a key.

I've opended a small treasurechest lying next to some kids cute but messed up drawings. Inside i found a tape that didn't leave me any wiser.
With the hammer i smashed a panel that turned on the lights and fried a monster, ending with me either completing or losing the game- I'm honestly not sure.

Every time I clicked the tarot cards on the floor, I got a new reading. So: I've gotten a lot of rotten tarot-readings from the cards laying on the floor, seems my life from now on will consist of nothing but bad-hair days, but then again I'm no expert.

And if anyone dosn't know it yet, though I'm sure you do, the lights from the flashlights scare the monsters into retreat, so you shouldn't be too conserned with them.

That wasn't so much 'spooky' as 'boring'. Moves incredibly slowly and now it's over and I don't know why.

Right, against my better judgment I started playing this, I've just about got used to the weird spooky stuff happening (mainly because I know it's a figment of someone elses imagination and don't personally believe in things like that), but I'm finding the game verrrry confusing indeed. Probably because it's in Japanese xo).

But I appear to be going round and round in circles, the rooms keep changing in that they look like they've been burnt out, I've found various recordings to watch, and a bunch of papers with japanese symbols on numbered from 1 to 3. I also have a key but I can't find where to use it......anyone any further?

Triple H - They're not going to stop. I've asked politely and made sarcastic remarks (ex: "I'm number 52!"). That's kind of a "tradition" here at lazylaces - GTFO yourself or get used to it, take your pick.

Everyone else that did - how did you find the secret room? I just got the ending where the lights went out and it was game over.

I'M NUMBER 28!!!!!

Ooh, I loved Forbidden Siren (the playstation game). This seems to be a promo for Forbidden Siren 2.

Regards to the light, "..as the chilling sound of a warning siren rings out over the island, the castaways are faced with the awakening of the Shibito (living dead) and the Yamibito (people of the dark).

To survive on the island, players need to use light to their advantage. Both the Yamibito and Shibito are sensitive to light - but in opposing ways. To wipe out the Yamibito players need to turn lights on but, to escape the Shibito players need to eliminate light, smashing street lamps, or hiding in the darkness."

So maybe you're supposed to hide in the dark after turning the light on? I have no clue!

This is rather good, actually...I played the first Siren on PS2 for months. It took *forever* to beat, but I finally figured it out. This is a rather nice follow up. Which is good, because usually the follow up games suck.

Omigosh! I LOVED Siren on the PS2, but, like some, it's kinda long and creepy and I haven't beaten it yet. It came out in '03, but I just got it about a month and a half ago. =/ Does Siren 2 have anything to do with the other PNC game on here, Forbidden Siren 2? They look the same, but this one actually has game play.

I can't find the 'good' ending, either. You smart people and your fantastic game play! Teach me your ways!

I'm number #48.

Siren is another term for a mermaid with a voice that lures people into the sea to drown them, with would make sence with the childs drawning, though I am comfused with how the rooms change and the vidio clips. ; /
Evil Mer-people eating human flesh, only in Japan. ^_~

This whole game makes a hell of a lot more sense if you've played the original, Siren.
The red rain falling everywhere turns people into living husks of their old selfs, which slowly mutate into what are more like demons than zombies. They're called Shibito. In the original, you have to sneak past them. It's like Metal Gear Solid, except scarier. Making noise and having a flashlight on of course causes them to see you and attack you, but in this game, some of the Shibito have obviously become something else, and are sensitive to light. No wonder why, in the original, it was almost pitch black even during the day.

I don't see how they made a sequel, the first game had a happy ending and they defeated all the Shibito and the things controlling them. I suppose they came up with something totally different and a hell of a lot scarier. How interesting.
