cant get the damn marble to fall thru the clocks.

i get the clocks all lined up, select a small circle on the screen. i then go to the water and see the marble go down the small tube. when i go back to the main room and then to the clocks, theyve reset.

i tried clocks first and then marble first, neither way works.

Alright, someone needs to bust the whole 'logic' thing behind the password, being:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Corset.

I first wish it to be known i did not look at the hints from the nordinho forums, it was all cold hard logic and, as things so often are, looking at things from the 'simple' perspective.

Here goes:

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
To start with, discard all of the previous claims that the 'colour and position' of the ten symbols on the right hand side of the fireplace is significant. It might be but i sure didn't find any use for it.

I like many of you probably recognised two of the symbols instantly: the male symbol and the female symbol. These symbols were easy to memorise, as was their order in the list.

After many a second of ferocious clicking on the books, i then realised that both the list of symbols and the list of planets were significant in which order one had to click the books to make the lettering appear ('trenchcoat astrologer').

At that point it occured to me that the symbol for males was equivocal to the planet mars in the puzzle, and the same went for the female symbol for venus (men are from mars, women are from venus). It also occcured to me that the symbol for mercury (being a hot planet) was the devil, i.e. hell. So logicaly, the earth had to be between the female and male symbols on the list. It was the circle with the cross in the middle.

It also then occured to me that all three of these symbols were on the top row of the coloured symbols to the right of the fireplace, and that they seemed to stand out amongst the others. So, being the inquisitive chap that i am, i went through the process of revealing all the letters, and then wrote down all the symbols and their corresponding letters.

Lo and behold, venus, earth and mars (woman, circle, man) were the first ones i wrote down because of my previous deductions, and there, right before me, was the password: Corset. What this has to do with the solar system, we will never know.

Hope that rids you of your collective headaches as to the logic required to defeat this brainstrain.

-Jimmy.

Jimmy - Your logic is fascinating, but not in the way the previous commentor means.

The symbology you tracked was tracked backwards; the use of the symbol for Mars to mean "man" and the symbol for Venus to mean "woman", for instance, is in that order. The symbols used here are classic ones from astrology, for the Sun and the nine planets.

This will prove vital (and painful) in part III, which I haven't finished yet...

months after you have all played the game, i will explain the simple logic behind the password. Since the symbols for Earth, Mars and Venus are highlighted by color, you correspond those symbols with the letters on the books for the word 'trenchcoat'. You get 'rec' You also have 3-5-1 above the symbols, so r is the 3rd letter, e the 5th and c the first. So you have 'c_r_e_' for the password. Now correspond the symbols for Earth, Mars and Venus in the word `astrologer'. You get 'sto' which would have to be in the other slots. resulting word is 'corset'. sorry for the much delayed post (which if anybody reads they get a lollipop'). Also, i'm also sure everyone knows this by now
