The Package
You're minding your own business sitting at your desk and a point'n'click adventure arrives in a package by post. Well it makes a change from waking up in locked rooms. You now have 15 minutes to solve it before you blow up. Typical. It's never good news is it? [subbed by hewitt, eb, & tafkam]

Nice game, although hard since there's that fifteen minute thing on it.

Oh and I guess I'm first.

Solved! Spoiler...

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

This is easy if you have a basic understanding of bases and have played one of those "solve the square" games before.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Begin by solving the code (just try different combinations).

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
If there is a green light under the number, then that means the number opposite it is correct (if the first number has light, then the fourth is correct, and vice versa. if the second, then the third, and vice versa).

*after you open the box*

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Add the three numbers in the diagonal

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
...put the numbers in so every diagonal and every row equals that number that the diagonal you already know adds up to.

*after you found the screwdriver and used it*

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Now you are told to make the green number equal 1111.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Notice the switches....they take away 1,2,4,8,16,32...etc away from the green number.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
This is binary.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
All you have to is find the biggest number that goes into 1111 that is 2^n (it is 1 when n is 0, 2 when n is 1, 4 when n is 2....). The biggest is 1024 (2^11). Flip the 11th switch. 1111-1024=87. What is the biggest number that goes into 87 that is 2^n? Now it is 64 (2^7). Flip the seventh switch. You may need a calculator, but I did it in my head.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Ok, so continue and get to the end, and now flip all the switches in the opposite direction. I think the term is "off" them, or something...err...just flip them all the other way.

*after you have the key and used it*

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
Now you are given two mathematical expressions. Solve them. (ex. 23x2x3=138)

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
...One of them will equal the number you are given off to the right.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
...The word-number sequence to the left of the expression that produces the given number to the right is a hexadecimal code for a color.

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)

take the correct word-number sequence, check online for which color that is, and cut that wire (it should be obvious that the one that is all 0's is black, but whatever)

Ok, if you are curious, the walkthrough I just wrote isn't click by click. Just the basic idea is shown.

ALSO the walkthrough itself is revealed step-by-step, so you don't see it all at once. I think it's convenient. Tell me what you think. It probably looks outrageous, but it's a lot better than making it too obvious.

hey guys - the thing that would have helped me when I was first trying this: You don't have a whole room to deal with. The puzzles appear in front of you, it's all within the bomb.

That was fun but I have to say, most of my solving was pure guess work, especially the choice at the end

yeh,, was fairly easy, the only bit i didnt get was the end bit, i worked out the oooooo was the same number as whatit said to cut... but what did that mean, i guessed the right colour, and obviously got it right seeing as it said i was correct and that i survived, for now, but what did that ooooooo and ffooooo thing mean?

Question.

About the numbers.

Because Laverne is an idiot.

Do you have to attain these numbers? All I can do with the keypad is click on it and he yells at me because there's some missing.

Laverne:

Don't be fooled by thinking this is a conventional keypad. The numbers do NOT run in the order they are supposed to.

Drag the loose numbers on the left, to an alloted space on the right.
There is a sequence to the keypad, (think number puzzle), which you have to figure out.

Once you have placed the numbers in their correct slots, you can dial the number displayed and continue.

Mike, nice hints. though lol on the binary one -- i think most of us will just do it by trial and error.
that's what i did, and i know what binary is and recognised it, but it was easier with trial and error, specifically
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
turn everything off and then turn them on until it goes over then turn that one back off

but your hint for opening the box might not work -- it's a different solution each time, so i don't know if it's always changing a specific number for a specific light.

the last one, about wires: there's two wires, and there's two codes. one of the codes is for one colour, and the other is (surprise!) for the other. the code for the black wire is
SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
actually logical IF you realise that it's code (specifically html code, i've been told). (the code for the red wire isn't logical, it's just obviously not black.

Specifically, the last two numbers are the hexadecimal code HTML uses to determine proportions of the major colors - the first two digits represent redscale. 00 means no red; FF means as much red as possible.

About the numbers at the end

SPOILER: (click box to reveal/hide)
The FF0000 and 000000 should be familiar to those who created websites before. They're color codes. 000000 is black and FF0000 is red. So by timing the numbers on the side of the codes. The one that equals to the number on the side is the correct answer

Help me, thanks.

This was a very very easy game.

For the 916312, click on that rectangle above the keypad to get the note and the missing numbers. Then put the numbers onto the open slots so that each row, column, and diagonal adds up to 15. Then punch in "916312" and the arrow.
