Siegburgspiel
The graphics for Siegburgspiel are fantastic - this is one good looking point'n'click game. Unfortunately there's a lot of writing, and that writing is in German. Thus while it might look great, I don't know what you are meant to do! Could be the greatest game ever but I just can't work it out. If anyone out there can speak German and translate what is going on that would be great. For now I'm just wondering around and taking in the view.

Eek..my German is very rusty. I'm going to try it, and see how I get on. If all else fails, I'll just click everywhere XD

I speak some german, so i'll try my best. here's what i can make out from the introduction info:

You are in the role of Sven. You have to find things that work with other things, for exapmle a key will open a closed door.
The cursor changes when:
You talk to someone, when you are able to look over or under something, when you take something, or when you can go somewhere else.

All the important facts are written in Sven's notebook.
Key guide:
F1 key-help
Mouse cursor- carries out an action
N key-shows you sven's notebook
K key- shows you the map of siegburg
Space bar- shows you all the available exits
O key- game and sound options.

i'll keep translating and see what else i can come up with. this isn't all word for word, but it is the gist.

The first guy you can talk to says "hello, can i help you?" you say back "how can i find information on sieburg? here in the station?" He says "go to the tourist bureau. they will help you." and you say "thank you."

I am german, so i understand what's going on in the game, but i'm not sure if my english is good enough to explain it to you. Please excuse my mistakes!!!

Sven is a young journalist invited by his sister to Siegburg (actually this game is a PR for Siegburg). There he hears about a mysterious old box which was found in the Michaelischurch. You have to go and find that church. On your way through Siegburg you can find items and speak to persons. You can also find a bank and get some money for example.

Sven finds the box in the church and speaks to a lady there. She explains that they are not able to open the box (which is part of a treasure) because it has a very difficult mechanism to open it. Now Sven wants to find a way to open it...

That's where i am now. I like the idea of the game but its sometimes a little too slow...

PS: I found the church by chance, just wandering through the city.

Another hint: Have a look into Svens book, in the corner down on the left.

In the tourist bureau:
Red haired woman says "welcome to siegburg. what can i do for you?" you says "i came straight with the ICE. I would like to get to know Siegburg. Can you recommend anything interesting?" She says "oh, that is not hard. you can go to the michaelsburg abbey, the market place, or the church. which one interests you the most?" you can then say the abbey, market or church, respectively. There's a lot of information after you make your decision, so tell me which one you want to know and i'll tell you what she says.

oops, sorry, the church's name is Servatiuskirche, not Michealis. Sorry sorry sorry!!!

Ooh..this is extremely irritating. The movement of the main character is driving me insane. He just won't walk where I want him to walk.
I think I'll give this one a miss tonight.

Thanks for translating though guys, it was very helpful.
My German is well out of practice and I could only make out parts of the dialogue.

Wow. The dialogues between the characters you run across in this game are too long to translate with the web translator. Very irritating! lol Wish I could have lived in Germany when I was older as oppossed to when I was a baby. I was there for 6 years and all I managed to learn were some colors, numbers and basic greetings. haha. Too bad this isn't in English :( Or at least made to copy and paste the words for faster translation :P

ok - help!

I have money, bananas, a jade figure, a bottle, a spark plug?, a hammer, a magazine a brochure and an ATM card.

I can't seem to find anything to do with any of them other than buying more bananas. The apothecary is always closed. Afew doors are always locked. I think i found the resteraunt - but it too is closed.

hints? walkthrough? Anything?

The language barrier too is frustrating.

BTW - Thank you all for providing this site and all of the great commentaries and hints on so many games. I do come by often but don't often post.

the second key is in the "Abtei". Tell the museum director about the first key and he'll tell you to visit the "Abtei" and talk to "Bruder Anselm". Do so and then explore the abbey.
